Cluck N Crust — Restaurant in East Hertfordshire

DO NOT ORDER FROM CHICKEN CORNER! We fancied a change so thought we would try Chicken Corner, we ordered 2 pizza meals that came with a 1.5l bottle of pepsi and chips, and decided to get some garlic bread with cheese and chicken wings to share between us. We placed our order at 7.59pm and at the time of placing our order it stated that the waiting time would be approximately 45 minutes which was about the average waiting time for take aways on that particular night. We received a confirmation email from Just Eat stating that our food wouldn't arrive until 9.45pm - nearly two hours later. We waited until 9.45 and then checked back on Just Eat which stated that our order had been delivered, however this was not the case; giving them the benefit of the doubt I waited until 9.55 yet the food was still yet to arrive. We decided that after 2 hours of waiting, for something that was supposed to save us the time and hassle of cooking to call them, however the first two times that we called them we were greeted with a busy tone. I waited a further five minutes and called them again, this time getting through to speak to someone, he apologised and said that the machine had broken so they had to mark it as delivered and that it would be there within ten minutes. 15 minutes later there was still no food, I called them again, to no apology and to be told the driver had just left, I had to clarify whether he meant he had left with my order or he had gone home. By this point I was giving up all hope of the take away actually arriving and my frustration was growing as I was due to be up a few hours later and at this point had waited nearly 3 HOURS for my food. My brother checked the reviews which regrettably I wish we had done prior to ordering; and the majority were from 2 different names, stating how great Chicken Corner is which lead us to believe that they had been getting people to write positive reviews in order to counteract the few real negative reviews on their page. Having messaged Just Eat the food finally arrived, the chips had no flavour and were stone cold, the pizza was vile; the majority of which ended up in the bin, along with the chips. The pizza base was like rubber and made out of something which can only be described as being similar to a naan bread... a bloody naan bread pizza... the crust wasn't crispy, some of the dough was uncooked and I've seen more topping on an ice cream than was on both pizzas put together. The pizza box was so flimsy that upon opening it the box flexed and the pizza nearly ended up on the floor. The garlic bread with cheese was slimy, and the chicken was edible but tiny. The best part about the whole meal was the Pepsi, the one thing that they had had no involvement in making. Please don't waste your time, very dissatisfied and frustrated, particularly considering that the delivery driver didn't apologise upon delivering and when we contacted them with our complaints they showed no interest in rectifying the situation. I was a quite regular customer but after this recent experience they will never get my money again. 2-3 hour delay and then the food never came. I tried to call the shop and they didn't answer.. when he eventually did answer he gave me a poor attitude, then told me it will be 10 minutes and then after that no food came. Then they refused to give me a refund with a message. (The restaurant isn't going to give you any money back for your delayed order. They say: "We're really sorry your order wasn't delivered on time. Order not delivered. When the delivery person called us, we missed the call but called him back immediately and he didn't pick up, even though we are staying at a hotel and he could have left the order at the front desk since we already paid online.
