Shadhona Bishop’s Stortford — Restaurant in East Hertfordshire

We went to this restaurant on the 4th of November 2018 for an early birthday dinner. We opted for the buffet. When we arrived, the waiter that took our drink orders just went to the bar and was chatting with the bar man. After a few minutes, another waiter came to take our drinks orders and we said we had given it to the other waiter, we then had to reorder our drinks again. The buffet selection were just basic, very limited choices available. The onion Bhaji was cold and soggy, I guess it had stayed in the hot tray for a long time. The rice was dry and hard as it had dried up from sitting in the hot tray for so long. We asked for naan bread, and we were given one to share amongst ourselves. We asked for extra naan bread and we were told that we had to pay extra, as we were only entitled to one naan with the buffet. That was not a problem. we all really liked this restaurant. The staff were very fast friendly and attentive from the moment we walked in the door. we were a group of four adults and four children, the staff arranged tables in an area nearer the back of the restaurant for us as requested. They were patient with the children. The decor of the restaurant is very nice.There is a beautiful water feature and there was also a television on the wall. It is very clean and neat and tidy. There is full menu available there as well as buffet help yourself table which was full clean and tidy too. We chose from the menu and everyone throughly enjoyed their food. This is the fist time ever I felt like punching someone in a restaurant!!! We ate here about a year ago and had a bad experience, we didn't go back although this is our nearest curry. We dicided to go back tonight after a few beers and I ordered the mushrooms rice, the mushrooms were raw! When I went to complain about it the response I got was "this is how we have done it for 20 years and of your not happy with it we can't take it from your bill". Needles to say I was not very happy with the response only to find the staff staring at me afterwards whilst I was trying to enjoy what was left of my meal without the rice.
