We called and made a reservation for Sunday Roast. Car Parking: Ample parking Accessibility: Wheelchair friendly and step free. WC’s are located on the same floor as entrance and bar. Outdoor space: Yes Table Service: Yes, order at the bar or use the table QR code. Our small group ordered using the App. Super easy and convenient to use. Everyone took care of their own bill 💸 . Staff: Lots of staff, attentive, polite and smiling. 10 out of 10. Kids: Kid friendly venue with high chairs available. Food: We all ordered off the Sunday Roast menu and we weren’t disappointed. Our booking was for 3pm. Our food arrived in good time as did our drinks. Everyone’s dishes were juicy and flavoursome. Yummy gravy and veggies. Veggies were perfectly cooked as were the meat elements. Topped with a massive Yorkshire pudding. 10 out of 10. We travelled from London by train, disembarking at Ware station to meet our mates. So it’s a short walk from the station. They said, they’ve never had a bad roast there. So we had high expectations. Venue: Clean and tidy. A golfing facility is behind the pub. Coffee: They make a decent flat white. The coffee was well made, milk was at a perfect temperature and the coffee flavour was robust. Very enjoyable. WC’s: Down a set of stairs. They were well decorated, lit, clean, tidy and were NOT smelly. Ample soap in the dispensers. One bit of improvement for mgt: Suggest staff remove their service aprons before using the WC’s. Look forward to visiting again soon.

Sunday lunch with the kids. Service is attentive and helpful, they were quick and substituted things on request. They also have a good selection of non alcoholic beers, wine and mocktails. The roast beef lunch was ok. Beef - excellent, nice and rare in the middle. The Yorkshire was big but overcooked and very dry. The potatoes tasted good but didn't have the crisp and crunchy casing you'd want. The horseradish sauce had too much mayonnaise and not enough punch. Disappointing that the desert appeared a long time after the coffee, even though the menu explicitly has the "coffee and mini desert" option! Sigh. When it did arrive, the creme brulee was perfectly fine, and the ice cream tasty. There's some provision for children here, with a menu and some colouring, but no children's cutlery and the child size ice cream is the same size as the adult!

As per previous post we found the manager to be surly and grumpy and she stropped around. Hospitality is about greeting customers and being amiable and polite . It seemed we were an annoyance for turning up. The prices ? Well , for what is basically a wetherspoons plate and cook by numbers ( could see the plating charts in the kitchen ) type of place i think the prices are way over what they should be . 20 quid for a small slice of salmon and some bought in sachet of sauce is a lot ! I know , i work in kitchens and a whole side of salmon is not much more than 20 quid ! I dont know where the positive views come from as it is basically a wetherspoons . Food was ok and cooked ok but hard to go wrong when its already made when it arrives. Will not be returning as theres many more places to eat where the staff care about the customer experience

A couple of girlfriends & I popped in for lunch today. Oh dear, we really should have chosen somewhere else. From being seated, our server (Lesley) obviously didn’t want to be working today. She struggled to take our drink order in a timely manner, then after a further 25 minutes we had chase her to take our lunch order.

Another half our later our lunch eventually got slapped on to the table by a young man, when we asked for additional condiments he just wandered off & we had to call him back & repeat our request.

One of our orders was for a triple cooked chunky chips with a burger. What we got was a lukewarm burger & skinny fries. This is something we thought would be rectified on the table call back. No call back. When Lesley dained to come back to the table, we had all finished our meals. We informed her that the burger had been less than hot & that it came with the incorrect side order, she basically just shrugged her shoulders to demonstrate how few hoots she could give.

We realised that our lunch date was never going to get any better so we requested the bill, which again was slapped on the table, again we had to chase up the delightful Lesley to pay.

Maybe we just caught Lesley on a bad day, but wow girl a smile and better attitude to your customers goes a long way to making people feel welcome. I will say that two of us were very happy with our meals, just not overly impressed with the appalling...

We went here for our family boxing day meal and we will not be returning.

Starters were rushed through as soon as we sat down... we hadnt even received our first drink until after the starters... which was luke warm and bland.... my daughter also didnt get any starters because she has cows milk protein allergy and soya protein allergy... this was not communicated to me prior to the meal and all we ordered her was garlic bread... they provided no alternative!

Table service quite slow for drinks but very nice girl just think she needed help.

Mains was awful being overcooked on the meats or under on the veg, again very bland and luke warm... a few of us didnt eat much of the mains. Again my daugher wasnt served any food until i asked and all she was plated up was mash and cauliflour... like where were the other veg?? This was all pre ordered also!

Desserts were probably the best part of the meal altho some complaints on the cheesecake have a mousse texture. Bit strange we sent in a preorder form but they got all the desserts mixed up or wrong.

And to top it off at the end of the meal we were given the bill with the deposit not being taken off.

Overall appaulling and also need to cater for dairy & soya...
