Get your staffing problems sorted otherwise you'll just be a takeaway! We had booked a table but on arrival the table wasn't ready & after shuffling chairs a change of mind to a different table we were seated. The restaurant wasn’t busy. It was well over 15 minutes before a waitress came to our table to take our 'drinks' order. We did say to her that we were ready to put our food order as well but in hindsight I realise that what had been said had gone completely over her head because her English was so poor that she didn’t understand. We went for the 'All you can eat for £16.95' for everyone in the party which consisted of 5 adults & 1 ten year old boy. We ordered 4 soft drinks & 2 tap waters & then went round the table individually ordering the starters; in total we ordered 11. This might sound greedy but 1 person’s order was for 'seaweed' (around 2 tablespoons of crispy fried green cabbage) & barbecued spare ribs ('Ribs' are about 4cms long per portion with 5 per plate, this means that 1 person’s portion equates to around 1 & a half standard spare ribs). About 15 minutes later a waitress came from the kitchen with 1 plate containing 3 spring rolls, 5 bbq chicken wings, 5 pieces of bbq spare ribs & a spoonful of seaweed. We waited because it is etremely rude to start eating before everyone has food. During the next ten minutes nothing appeared & the food on the plate that had been brought was cold & the bbq sauce on the ribs & wings had congealed. Remembering that we had ordered 11 items not even half the order had been brought to the table, we'd been given 4 leaving 7, which meant 4 members of the party had no food. Finally 1 member waylaid a waitress as she was bringing out other tables orders & asked when we could expect the rest of our order as our food was going cold whilst waiting for the rest. The waitress then told a complete & utter lie that there were no other items on the order, this I knew to be a lie as I saw the waitress write them all down on a paper in her orderbook. A waitess then took the order again. After about another 10 minute wait they brought out 2 soups & a plate containing 2 other items from our order. By now we have actually received 8 out of the 11 items ordered - although the original 4 on the table were inedible, glutinous & cold. We still, almost 40 minutes from putting in the original order, were 2 starters missing. .Over half an hour later waitress No. 1 reappeared to take away the starter plates & ask if we wanted more drinks. I then insisted that she took the mains orders as I knew if I once let her go we would probably still be in there the next day! We then sat & watched orders being taken & brought out, parties leaving & new tables coming in all being served. After an hour & quarter we managed to catch a waitress on her way past our table. About another ten to fifteen minutes passed & just 3 of our 6 meals were brought to the table. Once again we were left sitting waiting to start eating so that we could all eat together so at 9:20 pm after being there from 7.30pm we asked again about the other 3 items that we had ordered finally 10 minutes later the last 3 meals came out but by this time everyone was fed up so, still hungry, we just went to the till. We complained saying that we were definitely not happy to pay for 'all you can eat' as there was actually little we were given to eat. Finally they took 2 meals off the bill. The woman confirmed her naivity by adding a rider to the reduction in the bill claiming we were 'banned' from the restaurant. Regrettably I don't think she understands that due to the poor service and the tiny amount of food provided we had no intentions of returning. My reason for widely passing on this information is not just to let you know how awful the service is but to highlight the methods being employed to increase profits by taking money for food that they haven't provided, you can only eat what they put on the table so if they don't provide it they are making a phenomenal profit on everyone’s meals!!!...
Read moreRang to book a table they gave us 7.30pm sit down time it wasn't overly busy at that time but the table wasn't ready. we ordered off the all you can eat menu as there was 6 of us 5 adults and a child we ordered drinks and the starters and that's when it started to go wrong the starters should be for all to share but we only got 3 of each of the 4 items that came out we had ordered 11 items 7 were missing from the first part of the order as they hadn't put the rest of the order through so they came back after a while and we told them. they didn't seem happy that they had got it wrong but brought the rest out which was a better size portion but once finished it took them half an hour to take the main order and that was only because we found someone to take the order we then sat and watched orders being taken and brought out parties leave and new tables coming in so at 9pm after being there from 7.30pm we found staff again to ask about our order 3 meals came out from the 6 we ordered and after we spoke again to staff the last 2 meals came out but the rest of the table had eaten so we decided to leave and ask for compensation staff offered to take off the drinks but some of which were water after such poor service we were not happy with that and said we would not pay for one person as I had not eaten my meal the staff member wasn't happy with that but finaly agreed but as a final suposal insult she has banned us from the restaurant. Only shame is the quality of the food when it came was really nice as usual but Did she really think we would go back after such poor service and rudeness...
Read moreVisiting Alton Towers, we decided to drive several miles and order a take-away. Before the lady handed me a bag of food items and repeated my order, I drove back to the resort, only to find out that the order that was read to me didn't match the items that I had originally ordered. When I phoned the restaurant and explained that I had been given the wrong order, the lady told me that I agreed that the order was mine upon collection. I explained that the order that she had rad out to me wasn't the same as what I had taken. I agreed to drive all the way back to exchange the order! Upon getting back to the resort again, my family and I were hugely disappointed. Every curry dish lacked curry but tasted of oily gravy! It was absolutely disgusting and had to be thrown in the bin straight away. Rats would've turned their nose up at it!! I don't know if this was sabotage because of my complaint about being given the wrong order in the 1st place but there was no need for that! Never again would I come here during future visits to the area! I took no photos as the food deserved to go straight into the bin and not waste my hard drive space...
