Royal Harris Restaurant & Bar — Restaurant in East Staffordshire

We took the in-laws for a meal here on the weekend, being big fans of a chinese we were really looking forward to it. However, we ended up leaving very disappointed.

When we arrived, the restaurant was in dire need of a makeover, the decor and atmosphere were awful, and the toilets stunk of drains and the tables were sticky.

We were seated to our table with menus, a tick list, and NO communication at all. I am very confused about how we ordered we had to go and find a member of the staff to ask. We then had to re-find a member of staff after quite some time to get some drinks.

We ordered our appetisers first, which took an hour to come out! Realising the wait, we put our mains order in quickly, but this took a further hour to come out. The restaurant wasn't busy. There was ourselves and 2 other tables in. Perhaps they had a lot of takeaway orders, I'm not sure.

We sat at the table for 2.5 hours and only managed 2 courses. For an all you can eat restaurant, I do not feel we got out £25 per person worth of food. Dated dingy place, empty on a Friday night bar ourselves. Frequent coughing and sneezing coming crom the kitchen as they prepared our food.

Appetisers selection was actually nice and provided me with hope, moved onto the mains and it was so poor I couldn't believe the drop in standard, it was like uncle bens microwave rice, with a dry microwave chinese Iceland pack. For the two of us with 2 drinks £55 which was excruciatingly poor value.

Our favourite takeaway by far.

We've been using Just-Eat to get food delivered from Royal Harris for a few years now.

It's almost always early, never late. In all this time we've only had one instance where there was a mistake with the order and after we called them they fixed it within 10 minutes.

I really like the food here. There's a good selection and it's delicious.

We also recently ate in the restaurant for the first time. Nice chill atmosphere, staff were so helpful and welcoming and we will definitely be coming back.
