Beccles Station Cafe and Community Rooms — Restaurant in East Suffolk

As you approach Beccles Station and its cafe it looks charming. Unfortunately the charm stopped right at the cafe door. An attempt to locate a 'station toilet' was met with unapologetic hostility. Just for the record, this cafe is 'NOTHING TO DO WITH THE STATION'. And while that is perfectly fair, the loud and aggressive way that it was communicated was completely unnecessary. Had we been greeted with a polite refusal I might have bought something on the return trip and would possibly be able to offer a positive opinion. As it was, after such rudeness I wouldn't dream of putting the cafe staff to the trouble...

Charged £3.10 for a decaff coffee. When the person came into the room where they sat me . I enquired about the price. Extra 50p for decaff. Charged nw for a large . Wasn't offered a choice. Staff was rude . In how she spoke to me . Tone of voice. She then went back into the room where the till is and was telling her colleagues about my query and laughing !! AVOID ! Can't speak highly enough about this wonderful cafe. The breakfast was excellent, really good quality ingredients and cooked to perfection, the tea was great and what a treat to get lovely service with a smile. It was also excellent value.
