Greggs — Restaurant in East Suffolk

Went into Greg's in Lowestoft town centre for a coffee with my sister. On reading their specials that were being put up on the screen near the counter it stated hot drinks and pizza slice £3.50. After then looking at the price of the hot drinks and the cost of a slice of pizza, this came to £3.25 rather than the £3.50 special offer price!! I ordered coffee and pizza, but added that I wanted it at the correct price rather than the inflated special offer price and pointed out that special offers are supposed to be cheaper than the original!! The staff member seemed put out that I noticed and refused to speak to me after my pointing the mistake out. This "special offer" was not rectified and was still left in place to this date. Returned on Sunday to check out their specials price again and found that they have now increased the price of a slice of cheese pizza from £1.25 up too £2.00 to make their special deal cheaper. That's an increase of 75p on a slice of cheese pizza, just to make their inflated special price work!! Absolutely shameful. Shame...

Good food and in general very helpful staff.

Usually queues, which show it's popular, but not helped by some staff thinking the need to watch coffee being poured or sandwiches being heated rather than getting on and serving next customer.

Would be better if staff listened to what customers are asking for as some often talk over you asking questions which if they would just listen they already had been told answers. Could I suggest maybe listening to customers more and interrupting them less.

Also tills don't show customer how much they need to pay and staff wont tell you until everything has been prepared so rather than get money ready while order is being done it just increases time required to get food, pay & leave. Those few minutes wasted for every customer just make queues longer than necessary.

Overall though, aside from this, the good food and mainly excellent staff mean I visit 3 to 5...

I'm a local customer who reviews all establishments and enjoys to take his grandparents and child out when not working. This is now the second occasion consecutively where the customer service has been attrocious. I have been treated awful twice by members of the staff in greggs. Once by a member of staff overstepping the cue because she works here and her husband being aggressive and the second time due to the service being completly disorganised where two cashiers argue over who is serving each customer and then continue to be disrespectful and rude after beig the ones causing the confusion.
