Wimpy — Restaurant in East Suffolk

Went here September 2025 to have a meal with my family, the place smelt like a greasy spoon so I just had a bad feeling straight away about it!.. We ordered a big breakfast and 2 burgers and loaded fries. When the burgers came they had a puddle of grease in the plate, the breakfast was average, bacon was cheap and tasteless the loaded fries were absolutely drenched in cheese and were just way too heavy!.. Then we decided on pudding, I had the brownie ice cream sundae, my daughter had the churro one! When the churro turned up they were warmed up in a microwave and soggy and raw bit one bit crunchy or fresh!... They didn't have and fuzzy drinks and the apple juice was tasteless!.. So disappointed for £53 I can't believe we didn't just walk out as soon as I smelt the grease, so so angry as we don't get to go out much as a family and to get food like that it was just so mood destroying and we all felt so sick after driving home... Just avoid as the food isn't worth it and the burgers definitely aren't how Whimpey used to be that's for sure! . Crap food and the staff and annoying and the whole atmosphere is...

Nostalgia is sometimes not good. I was really looking forward to having a wimpy for the first time in decades. Unfortunately, even though the staff were friendly enough. I ordered a chicken wrap and chips with a bendy on the side for the other half and a double quarter pounder with bacon and chips for myself withe a couple of milkshakes. With my mouth watering when I brought it out to eat, the first of the disappointments presented itself, the chips were missing. I went back and the staff apologised and gave me my missing chips. Now comes the biggest disappointment, the double quarter pounder order seemed to have been misread and turned into a single. The burger itself looked and tasted of a processed burger from the 1980s and the chips, although hot, tasted of lovely cardboard, the chef seemed to have the culinary skills of a dead badger. We were greeted at the door and asked if it would be inside or takeaway. We said we would eat inside, a menu was handed to us and we stood and stared at the menu. Then the waiter came again and sat us at a table. I just wanted chips and pepsi. My daughter wanted a hamburger and milkshake with cheese sticks... What I wanted was supposed to be a plain potato, but it came with cheese. But the worst part was that it came in a small bowl. For this price, you can eat more potatoes elsewhere... Definitely, their menu is very small and not satisfying for the price. We experienced it for the first time and I will never go there a second time.
