Pipers was packed when my wife and I arrived around midday on a Saturday so we were fortunate to seated as a table became vacant as we entered. We ordered a pot of tea for two and sandwiches. The tea was served after 10 minutes (we had to ask for the table to be cleaned at this time) our food arrived some 50 minutes after we had finished the the tea. This used to be a good inexpensive cafe but it must be under new ownership. I do not recommend eating here. My partner was served the wrong sandwich, and £8 for a baguette with a bit of salad and a few crisps is too high even if it had been good. Mine was ok although the pickle had no flavour. The plate was so tiny I kept knocking the small salad onto the table. Tiny hard to open packets of sauces for your chips. I...
