Cafe 1975 — Restaurant in East Suffolk

I booked 1975 Wine Bar for private hire this January, for a surprise 40th for my partner. Clare was the perfect host, from first contact to sharing photo after the event, every step of the way I felt in good hands. I booked back in September, we met at the venue and Clare took notes as I described the type of evening I would like, and the food/drinks we would like to order. Everyone’s dietary requirements were met - gluten free, vegan, vegetarian. Clare made sure to ask me at our first meeting and again a few days before in the lead up to the event. From booking, Clare organised everything really. I was able to drop off the cake and decorations and arrive with my partner to an organised party with a beautiful spread of food and drinks.

It worth noting that the venue isn’t just for hire, I went in with a few friends on a Friday afternoon for cheese toasties, soup and wine. It was delicious! Great atmosphere; the decor is so lovely! Menu has a great selection of small bites to a nice hearty lunch. It just made me ever more excited to host the party there!

Guests at the party commented on how great the food was, saying there was a lot to choose from and it was super tasty. The size of the venue allowed for a really great atmosphere and the live guitarist playing (recommended by Clare) elevated the whole event. The event was child friendly which was great for having family come!

We have a 9 month old but didn’t want that to stop us being able to celebrate how we would have prior to baby, I felt so looked after all evening. Clare wheeled in the pram for me, did me a plate of food when as I was holding the baby. We were both truly spoilt, it was a tremendous way to mark turning 40. - will have to book for mine!

I had my baby shower at 1975 winebar back in the summer (I meant to do a review before now, but my pregnancy wasn’t easy and baby has taken over my life), but I couldn’t have booked a better place to host it! Clare was so accommodating and made organising it all super easy! We ended up using the outdoor area, which was perfect because it was a stunning day! Clare was happy for us to decorate the courtyard with baby shower bits and bobs and even helped to do so! The courtyard just has such a lovely feel to it and was the perfect location for a summer baby shower but would be fab for any social event! The food was absolutely incredible, I ordered a big grazing table which went down swimmingly! It looked beautiful and all the ingredients were top quality and you really could taste the difference. I highly recommend the chocolate tiffin and brownies! The drinks options were also impeccable! Obviously great alcoholic options but also had some lovely alcohol free options including an alcohol free pimms which was perfect for an expecting mumma still wanting to feel like she was having a special drink! The service was amazing, especially considering we were a big group and it was a busy summers day with lots of other customers! Every member of staff was so kind and really made me feel special as a mother to be! I shall be returning, now with my little family, for a grazing board and a glass of vino soon! I cant recommend 1975 highly enough. My 2nd time visiting since its opened and at both visits I've thoroughly enjoyed the absolutely delicious grazing boards on offer. The food here is fresh, home made and beautifully presented. I also love the fact they use ingredients from local suppliers! The space Is warm and welcoming and the courtyard provides the perfect setting for a summer evening dining experience. The menu caters for everyone- even the kids! I'm always torn for choice on what to try next and look forward to my next visit to try something else off their wonderful menu.
