Brownbread Bakery — Restaurant in East Suffolk

Nestled in the heart of Woodbridge, this charming bakery offers a delightful range of both sweet and savoury snacks. I tried the carrot cake slice, which was pleasant and well-made.

The lemon drizzle cake, however, didn’t quite hit the mark—it lacked the vibrant lemon flavour I was hoping for.

On a more positive note, my partner thoroughly enjoyed the double chocolate muffin, which was rich and indulgent. We also sampled the chicken samosa, which was a tasty savoury option with a nice balance of spices.

Overall, it's a lovely spot to grab a treat, but there are a couple of hits and misses...

Lots of competition in Woodbridge with Cornish & soon to be Acre bakeries opening alongside Two Magpies. Don't think Brown Bread's faux artisan processed offerings are going to be good enough. Another day, another stale doughnut, despite asking staff if they were a fresh batch and being told "yes, from this morning"... what they mean is freshly delivered this morning from their central factory in Essex where it was made days ago. My daughter and I visited your shop today with the intention of purchasing treats for our family. Unfortunately, we encountered an unpleasant experience at the counter. On two separate occasions, the staff member ignored us and proceeded to serve the customer behind us in the queue. This was compounded by the observation of other customers seemingly jumping the queue. The repeated disregard for our position in the queue was disappointing.
