Spice Hut Indian Takeaway — Restaurant in East Suffolk

Accidentally put wrong address into order, called to ask for an update after waiting 2 hours on the food and they said that there was no answer and had taken the food back and we had to collect. I understand collecting if the delivery wasn’t answered but then started having a go saying the address was wrong and talking over me. However, they didn’t call or message to say there was no answer. What’s the point of giving a phone number? My partner went to collect and grabbed the bag and tried to leave but the 11 year old behind the counter started having a go and shouting at her about how the address was wrong and how dare she call and complain.

I called and complained.

The food was honestly dreadful, cold and bland. The naan was wet and had spots that suspiciously looked like mould on it, rice was originally frozen as some of it hadn’t separated and was cold, the mains were tepid at best and tasted like a foot. The chicken was pink and questionable, The sides were passable but the damage was already done. We threw it away in the end because it was terrible and are going to take it further. I cannot stress enough how this establishment isn’t fit to serve food or customers. I’ll never use it again and I hope you don’t too.

I also think it probably needs a health and safety check as the food definitely didn’t smell right.

Avoid at all costs. Had an order delivered lastnight, 1 item missing, 1 thing that I didn't order and was sent a prawn curry when I ordered chicken (can't have prawns!!). Phoned them up and the guy said he'd send out the new stuff. After 20mins a lady calls me asking what the problem was, explained it all to her, she said she'd resend it (after the guy was meant to have already done this!!). She calls me again after 15mins asking me not to leave a bad review!!! After another 40 mins new food arrives, curry very bland, no spice at all but after all this time I didn't really want anything to eat. Another 20mins goes by and another guy calls me asking not to give a bad review!! He asked me what I wanted, I said a refund which he agreed but it never happened, have reported to Just Eat aswel. Doesn't even deserve 1 star but...

Lost its way... I was so disappointed after ordering a takeaway from Maharaja last week. I hadn't been here for a few years due to moving away, then upon moving back to the area I was looking for a decent Indian again. I ordered the lamb tikka vindaloo and inedible would not usually be a word I would like to use, but the lamb was so tough that I was unable to bite into it. The vindaloo sauce was bog standard BIR style sauce. Rice half full. It almost feels like this place doesn't want any repeat business if they are putting out food of this low standard. The delivery was fast though. You need to ask chef if he would be happy to eat what he's putting...
