In recent weeks, I have visited each of the Yeo Group's three local venues. This one, a very classy conversion of the former town fire station, is very centrally- sited. I ventured in at 1130 and, over the hour that I was there, I was one of only a very few males in evidence. Clearly it's a very popular venue for 'ladies who lunch'. The staff were excellent, as seems to be the case across all the company's venues. The coffee - I had a couple of Americanos - was also top notch. I opted for the 'Huevos Estrellados', which was advertised as being two fried eggs with saute potatoes and spicy tomato sauce. Now, I have enjoyed this dish in many parts of the world and I accept there are countless variations. But sauteed potatoes are NOT boiled new potatoes given 10 seconds in a frying pan; any chef of note will tell you they need to be sliced, then fried until brown all over and crispy. Plus the eggs don't need to be crucified, as is evidenced in my photograph. Having said all of that, it was a very tasty dish, especially with the addition of mushrooms and onions. My biggest concern was the emergency cord in the toilet, which someone had tied back, presumably to stop guests pulling it by accident. All very well, but if an individual of limited mobility took a tumble, I very much doubt whether the device would be within reach. Not clever. This venue is close to a five star rating, it just needs...
Read moreGreat meal and lovely atmosphere. Just been for the first time - recommended by parents. Pretty busy and told we may have a 20-30 minute wait. Decided to chance it and we only had to wait 10-15 minutes with a drink. Food was great - tapas platter starter, risotto and calzone (lamb and feta-lovely!) plus an affogato to finish, service was attentive and spot on plus staff are clearly well organized and hard working. Value is excellent! We both ate well, with drinks, one dessert all for £42. Menu is Mediterranean so if you like italian, Spanish, Greek etc as well as seasonal/weekly special then this is for you Would thoroughly recommend. Note - you don't book so be aware you a busy place like this could leave you with a waiting time. Also, if you're aiming for a quiet romantic meal then perhaps it may not be your first choice. We loved it and would...
Read moreAmazing Mediterranean restaurant in the centre of felixstowe. Its busy and lively with a great atmosphere. The staff were very accommodating to our table of four with fantastic service and were able to make adjustments to one of the dishes to suit us. Drinks were delivered efficiently after ordering and we were regularly checked back on to see if we needed to order more. The food was really good, highly reccommend the tapas! All food and drink was very reasonably priced and nothing was too much trouble for the friendly staff. It was nice to see people wandering in late into the evening, gave the place a real continental feel. There is one unisex/disabled toilet downstairs with further toilets upstairs. It is a card only establishment. Had a lovely evening here and will definitely...
