Although we didn't stay here it was our first visit to Walberswick, I loved this place it would be wonderful to live here, The Bell Inn is a quaint pub, very oldey worldy, we only ate a sandwich eat but it was beautiful, it came with a side of salad, we had a bowl of twice/thrice fried chunky chips which were nice and crispy the only downfall was the paper ramikins it would be better to have crockery ones as difficult to hold, the staff were lovely and attentive, there is an outside seating area in the back garden, would we visit again 100 % we would

Expensive for a pub in Suffolk. Menu looks good. Wife and I had sandwiches (crayfish tails and also a cheese and Suffolk chutney). The contents of both sandwiches were nice. But the bread (white) in both sandwiches was dry like they had been pre-cut and left out for a while. The pub itself is quite nice. Decent toilets and there is a nice (and quite large) garden. Plenty of places to sit. Needs to up its game a bit on the food front as I guess there is some complacency that there aren't that many places to eat around here.

Spending two nights at the pubs Hotel. Lovely old pub owned by Adnams, one of my favourite brewers. Staff very friendly and most helpful. Our room was simple but very nicely presented. Food and drinks very nice. The location is tremendous. Please note the car park is for hotel residents only, as it is quite tight. Lovely garden though around the back. Situated off the village green and short walks to the beach. First time in this part of the country, it's a great base to explore and would recommend to all.

We have been going to The Bell for thirty years! Weddings and Christenings have been held there and yesterday we met up for a lunch to remember my late husband. Victoria was a treasure and arranged everything. The staff were brilliant. Location as usual is a gem … but oh dear what has happened to the food? Bland, basic presentation,. I’ve eaten the Fish Pie on every visit and my meal yesterday was a travesty. Thin layer of mash, thin sauce, a few bits of salmon and prawn. The seasonal vegetables were peas and 6 green beans but they covered the rest of the plate. I was awash in peas. The two ladies who chose the linguini were picking at it , flavourless/bland they told me. You can’t get ham, egg and chips wrong so the complaint there was the tiny piece of ham!! But the classic was Cheese of the Day - a small wedge of cheddar and another triangle of some indiscriminate white cheese that my husbands nephew couldn’t identify , with a really basis choice of cheese biscuits … well at just short of £10 it was a rip off! My sister in law told me that on the last occasion she had lunch there she was bitterly disappointed. As she wryly said, her late husband, for whom The Bell was the best pub restaurant in the world, would have had a serious word with them! Very very...

Only second visit, the previous being some years ago. This time as a party of four, meeting to celebrate mutual wedding anniversaries. Lovely day, beautiful setting, quirky pub. Unfortunately the food and staff attitudes spoilt the whole experience. The fish pie was totally misnamed. It was advertised as including cod, salmon, smoked haddock and prawns. In fact whilst there may have been some cod (not much) and a couple of small prawns there was certainly no visble salmon nor haddock, both of which should have been easily identified by colour. The £20.00 price promised much more. When we complained to staff we were told "Yes other people have said that". Two of us had very tasty ice cream for dessert, but with no attempt at presentation, being plonked into a sundae glass devoid of any accompaniment, not even a brandy snap. The sticky toffee pudding was delicious but came with a very small half jug of custard. We asked for more custard, but we're astonished to find we had been charged an extra £1.00 for the privilege. Whilst we didn't necessarily expect a reduction in the final bill, we were a little disappointed that our adverse comments were only met with "Oh dear" We won't be...
