Was unable to eat anything , everything was swimming in grease, over cooked , chips had so much salt on absolutely vile £52 wasted . Chicken curry was just brown water lumps of chicken and mushrooms , no taste to it whatsoever, pork balls were so tough that was once you got to the meat through the extreamly thick overcooked grease filled batter . Seemed like chips and pork balls had been fried 2 or 3 times so dark in colour and full of grease , has to be the worst Chinese I've ever bought . It's very unassuming, almost canteen style eaterie with an inventive menu and a decent wine list that is priced realistically. The food was rather fab as was the service. And the enjoyment of eating a Chinese meal in a restaurant setting had almost erased itself from my memory, given that pretty much the only way to eat Chinese food is from a takeaway (cash only obvs). Serving size was perfect and the food smashing.
There was absolutely nothing to complain about.
We had a bottle of rose to start and then a carafe of house red. Both beverages were well above average and far between than you have learned to expect from a Chinese restaurant.
The lady who served us was simply charming and helpful. She even picked our final dish of fried dumplings, which turned out to be perfect.
