This was probably the first time I have sat in a McDonald’s this year and I was surprised at how dirty it was especially given the current situation and the ongoing cleanliness reminders everywhere you go. The staff seemed more concerned with making sure everyone was wearing a mask for the nanoseconds they were finding a table or ordering than actually clearing or cleaning any surfaces. After ordering our food it took over 30mins for it to arrive- rather a long time for a fast food chain in my opinion! We were in there for nearly an hour and in that time we saw a member of staff clean 2 tables and this was only because, on both occasions a family had requested the tables be cleaned. A big group of rowdy teens came and sat by us at one point and were swearing, running around the restaurant, throwing their food and they broke the makeshift dividers put up to keep as many tables as possible open, at no point were they approached by a member of staff to call them out on their appalling behaviour. Once they finally left (for some reason they ordered after us and had finished their food before ours even arrived!) a large family arrived and removed the now broken divider so they could sit together as a family the manager swooped down on them like an eagle and told them they must put the divider back up. The mother explained that it was broken and they would also like to sit together as a family. This was not good enough for the manager who preceded to shout and become quite aggressive towards this family demanding that they sat on a different table with quite high stools to which the mother explained that her children were too young to sit upon, she also mentioned that the table was disgusting when they arrived and they had to clean it themselves. The manager stormed off at this point saying “Oh, I can’t be bothered with all this”. Dreadful attitude for a manager in my opinion. On my previous visit to the drive thru I pulled up to one of the order boxes and was ignored whilst 3 other cars went through on the 2nd box. I resorted to shouting hello, can I place an order please until I finally got a response. After placing my order and getting to the collection window, I was told to park up and had to wait 15 minutes for a couple of burgers and fries meals. Nothing special, just a bog standard cheeseburger meal and a bog standard chicken burger meal.
Just got back from my 2nd and last visit. I managed to get served at the drive thru straight away this time, I expect because there was no one else in the queue. Placed a simple order, 1 x large cheeseburger meal with sprite, a cheeseburger & small fries and a bacon cheese burger. Simple stuff, nothing special. Got to the collection window and was handed a coffee, handed it back. Then got handed a medium sprite whilst being told I was being given a large. Handed it back. Got a large sprite. Then waited. Then told to park up and wait. Again! For a few cheeseburgers! At McDonald's. I mean, this is what they do isn't it? Make burgers right?! Finally got my food dumped through my window with a grunt, got home and what a surprise, they'd missed the small fries from the order and the buns were stale.

Read moreThe worst managed branch I have encountered. Sadly my closest branch, but the last time I ordered they missed three items. Previous time I attended I waited 5 minutes then the manager turned up and asked whether anyone could serve. No-one responded so he said 'guess it's me then', turned to me and said 'yeah?' - top service. Today I walked in to find they were only allowing one person in to queue at a time, everyone else standing haphazardly around, not in any form of queue and with no staff outside managing this I only found out after queuing for a couple of minutes when someone moaned that me and the person behind had jumped the non-queue. Zero standards and this has been a consistent story at this branch. When I worked in retail I was taught to apologise for delays, to advise that someone would be with the customer, to always be polite- these are elementary parts of this industry. September edit - half an hour to get a coffee this morning. Not bothering again. Edit - I bothered again. Coffee came quickly so came back for lunch with my 1.99 receipt voucher. Waited ten minutes to find they don't honour the codes at that branch, as they don't have a QR scanner. Never change, worst mcdonalds branch, never change.
