The Alexandra Arms — Restaurant in Eastbourne

Went with friends for the quiz night and decided to eat beforehand. 40 min wait for food, 1 order was wrong, surly waitress, no apology. Bar was staffed by young girls who were more interested in standing around chatting and looking at their phones than serving customers. Food average and overpriced. Quiz was disorganised and went on for hours.The quizmaster couldn't pronounce a lot of words and kept mucking it up....all a bit of a shambles really. Thought we would give it another go with a music night a few weeks later as we had heard the artist was good. Booked a table nearly 3 wks in advance specifically asking to be near to the musician as one of our party is disabled.Arrived to be told table was reserved but in other bar, far away from the music and right next to the door making it difficult for my friend to sit. Waitress (same surly one as previous visit), said everyone wanted to be in the other bar so she couldn't do anything then walked off. Therefore so did we, straight out the door. I always believe in giving 2nd chances but in doing so there was no improvement in the staff attitude. We won't go back. And why on earth don't they accept cash? That's a loser...

Nice place although the furniture makes it feel quite dark. Very friendly staff and really helpfull. Great garden with awsome little houses for the kids to play in. Dogs are welcome which is lovely. The only down side really is not much seating that isn't reserved. You can still used the reserved seating so isn't all bad but have to move or leave an hour before the reserved time slot on the table so they can clean it etc. Pricing isn't too bad either. Chips are yummy and not too expensive and drinks are pretty affordable too. When I went the ramp door was closed with a sighn to use the other door so not great for buggies or wheel chair users, I'm not sure if that's a common thing or...

A good welcoming pub,found this establishment by chance really (as on line it was stated as closed) and noticed the lights were on so decided to pop in and see if we were ok for a meal and we were! We all had roasts of which were tasty but the veg could have been cooked a little longer and the roast pots also needed further cooking but alas as mentioned the meals were tasty,two of us had desserts of which were very nice! In the way of entertainment there seems plenty of it at The Alexandra Arms and noticed the night before a tribute to Adele was on and seemingly a great night was had by all,we shall return to this...
