Princes Cafe — Restaurant in Eastbourne

There are mixed reviews here but I'm an occasional visitor. What you get from less frequent visits is an idea of quality and repeatability. So my last visit was 3 months ago, I had the same breakfast and the food was excellent, same as before, non greasy. Going back to local cafes as recent experiences with bigger chains has been really disappointing. Good breakfast, fast, very clean inside and out, following government covid rules. Nice cooked runny eggs, nice bacon, crispy yet still juicy in parts, nice thickness. Tomatoes but not drowning in juice and making everything else soggy. Hash browns crispy but with a good potato filling inside. Banger's - nice pork flavour, cooked but still juicy.

Other comments here on their sausages, it's a typical cafe sausage I wasn't expecting anything else. Prices and portions are very good, but a higher grade banger will cut into that price, hence these are the sausages you get, I'd say pork content is 50- 55%, not bad when you consider their margins. Toast - already buttered, hurrah! Don't have to fiddle with seperate butter portions, or ask for more cause it's rock hard or so melted it has reverted to oil. My wife and I made a first visit and each ordered the All Day Breakfast. The food was freshly cooked, substantial and well presented on hot plates. Good quality, well cooked food.
