So disappointed. Came here to try the place out for the first time and to meet up with a friend over coffee and breakfast. First of all it took ages for the only available table on the outside deck to be cleared. 2nd of all its counter service which was strange conserving the amount of staff just standing around.

Ordered a Coffee and Pancakes with Berries. When the order came out it was just a plate with 3 pancakes and some very sorry mushy looking berries. It was quite clear looking at the pancakes and trying a bite that they were pre made out of a packet. The berries were clearly from a frozen berry mix from the freezer isle… I immediately took my plate to the counter for a refund/ exchange which they did. No apology was given by staff or manager for that matter. In fact the girls behind the counter just stared at me blankly obviously have no customer service experience judging by there age and manner. How hard I is it to whip up a home made pancake batter a decent jam and a bit of cream??? The Eggs Benedict I ordered as replacement was just bland, no effort put in to presentation ether…, so to recap Ā£7.60 for two fresh orange juices, and Ā£10.40 for an Oat Latte and Berry Pancakes out of a packet Ā£18 in total and just what I spent , never mind my friends order! That’s a lot of money for a cafe with no Service, no ambiance, and terrible food quality- feel like I’ve been scammed quite frankly I and so it seems has Hamble high street as this cafe really doesn’t befit the quality of some of the other establishments...

The homemade cake and tea were lovely, but unfortunately, the service left much to be desired. Despite only two other customers in the cafƩ, the waitress appeared overwhelmed and flustered. She initially forgot to bring our cake, and when I went to the counter to ask for it, she seemed unsure of what she was doing. In hindsight, rather than checking the order properly, she ended up charging me again for the same cake, meaning I paid twice.

The lack of visible prices on the board and no menus added to the confusion. It was only long after my visit that I realised I had been charged nearly Ā£18 for a sandwich, cake, and two teas—pricing more fitting for the Ritz!

Additionally, a gentleman who seemed to be a regular was treating the cafĆ© as his personal office, talking loudly on his phone with little regard for other customers. While this hasn’t influenced my rating, it might be worth the owners kindly asking him to keep the volume down if they know him well.

A shame, as the food was enjoyable, but the experience overall was...

Decided to pop down for breakfast on a rainy Monday morning whilst on holiday in Hamble. We sat outside under the awning as we had two dogs. It was quiet outside (due to rain) but busy inside. I had to wait in a queue of 7 people before ordering but the ladies behind the counter were quick & efficient and got through the people waiting very quickly. I ordered 2 x full English with drinks and took my table number outside. The drinks came quickly and despite the number of orders in front of us our food arrived pretty speedily. Delicious piping hot breakfast which we enjoyed very much. If we lived in the area I'm sure we'd be regulars. I noticed there was a group of mums with young babies and a good mix of people inside, it is obviously a popular local cafe. Delicious looking cakes, fudge, ice cream so something for everyone including some gluten free options on the menu & to buy from the...

Full confession: I am Bavarian by birth. So I don’t now anything about Ahornsirup tenderly sucked up in fluffy pancakes and good slices of roasted ham giving it a salty twist. Also I am not raised by proteins delivered by perfectly poached eggs on a muffin to die for and a sauce bernaise which, now, was just this twist so all came together as a one time experience. Did I mention we do not eat squeezy, yummi Walnutcakes by nature? Right. Thus it may well be that the twinkle and the all smiles attitude of all the Jennies at this place will make me recommend this Cafe by heart. A pity we only drink amounts of beer out of oversized barrelllike glasses and only know about white sausages, brez’n, sweet mustard and porkbelly. go there, have decent food and a great time as I had - thank you and all the best

We dropped in for coffee and stayed for lunch! Our first visit to this lovely cafe but it definitely won't be our last. We arrived just as the morning rush was finishing so we had a choice of tables, our food was cooked fresh (but even so, with minimal delay) and was just how we like it. Excellent to see a good range of healthy options as well as the standard cafe fare, and the prices are reasonable, especially for a prime location. The picture shows my Eggs Royale - the portion size is two of these but I'd eaten one before I remembered to take a picture!
