One word can describe it... Bedlam. Not only is the layout pretty poor, especially when it's as busy as it was. But there was no order to anything. The screens are positioned right opposite a row of tables, with the huge queue of people waiting to collect their food, leading from the desk back to the stairwell. Meaning you literally have to fight your way through the hoards to be able to actually place your order. So much for social distancing! Then it's a 10 minute wait for food after the screen has no pri ter paper meaning we need to remember the number, standing around 20-30 feet from the desk with the staff yelling numbers, as best they can with face masks on. No computer screen showing which orders are being prepared and which are ready.
Then there's the fact that the downstairs toilets were out of order, probably a good thing as no one could get to them through the mass of bodies.
Get upstairs and sit down to find no dip with the nugget meal, head down to the condiment table, and nothing there. Downstairs one is the same, no pots, no nothing. Ask a staff member, 'We have no ketchup.' So instead of getting told that and given another option to go with the nuggets, you get them dry.
The bins upstairs were a completely different story; there was loads... of rubbish that is. As the photo's show, the bins upstairs had basically just been forgotten about. Overflowing with trash, nowhere to put our trays with rubbish on, both were exactly the same. Although if you had the foresight take it downstairs, or the willing, the bins were clearly being dealt with regularly.
I even saw a customer help themselves to the cleaning spray and cloth to clean her table off before sitting down as the tables were clearly being omitted too.
They need to seriously work out a better layout, more staff and try and share the work/jobs evenly between people so that...
Read moreThis McDonald's, just like many others, is a bit of a pot luck with the food as sometimes is great or terrible or alright. Negatives: Going here at lunch time is obviously going to negatively affect your experience because it will be crowded and may not have many available seats (upstairs is rarely open). It can also be very loud at this time. Be prepared as some of the kiosks' receipt printers don't work so remember your order number (maybe type in notes in your phone), the waiting times will depend on your order size but i've never had to wait any longer than other McDonalds so this shouldn't stick out in your experience here. Due to the colleges in eastleigh, many students go here during lunch, so this contributes to a negative experience if they're loud. Positives: Staff are nice, polite and helpful. There are many seats just downstairs so there will be a few even if it is crowded. It is cleaned regularly and doesn't have bits of food on the floor like you may find at others. It has ketchup and BBQ sauce squeezers near the ordering area. You shouldn't have to wait long for the kiosks. Overall: Overall, Eastleigh McDonalds is fine for a quick lunch and while there are some negatives, they are normal to many other McDonalds as well.
Star Ratings: Main Rating - I rated this 3 stars because it is not perfect but not the worst either making this fine for lunch. Food Rating - I rated this 3 stars because it is mostly random with the quality, being a bit stale and low quality or being perfectly fine and tasting great. Service - I rated 4 stars because the staff are great and i appreciate their hard work. Atmosphere - I rated this 2 stars because the experience is like being at a children's soft play area with the noise/students.
Thank you for those who make it this far and reading my review and i...
Read moreMcDonald’s in Eastleigh Swan Centre has constantly been a let down these past few years…especially since deliveries. The amount of times we have had missing food, the wrong orders AND pieces in the burgers to which were labelled not to have. The fries were lukewarm - myself and the kids did not eat any of them. In store, the staff are EXTREMELY unprofessional, they can be very rude and they tend to boss each other around, so you don’t know who the manager really is. I have made numerous complaints and have been put off reviewing online for a long time and I don’t think it’s fair of customers who want their food, to be treated like we are not important to your company. I have heard, first hand, that the milkshake and ice cream machines are turned off because staff do not want to serve them, and I have seen video tapes of staff messing around behind the scenes of shifts. This will be reported and I will Make sure that if my family do make an order with this store, it will be collected and checked before...
