Used to frequent this place many many years ago. We stopped going because it wasn't good enough.

The NEW owners have improved the whole dining experience to such a level that we will be visiting again just to make sure it isn't a "one off"!

The new "A Casa" has only been open barely three months. It was packed solid. That, in itself tells you something. The all-male front of house staff were very good, entertaining, efficient, polite and made you feel "special".

The food. Being 1/2 Italian I am used to "home cooking". The food served up from the starter (mine was thinly cut beetroot with walnuts & fresh (read VERY fresh) spicy rocket with warm Goats cheese) through main course (Spaghetti Vongoli for my wife & Steak with Gorgonzola for me) to desert (Torta Della Nona), was fantastic, with real home cooked flavours and served fresh from the kitchens.

If you are looking for fast food Italian, don't bother eating here. This is the real deal. prices were about right for the setting and location, (Cobham/Esher is hardly a cheap place to eat). However it was full with a great mix of customers. From couples to parties, to small groups of four, this place had an atmosphere others restaurants dream of.

We are looking forward to our next visit, fingers crossed it will be as good as our first experience. Well done guys.

Update - been back now many times with lots of friends. Verdict? We've all been back again. Trouble is, it's a bit like having a really good Plumber. You want to tell your friends but maybe you could keep it a secret all to yourself. But that would be...

Driving home from the restaurant, the aromas were circulating in the car, tantalising, I edged closer to home, speeding slightly under anticipation. A good sign.

Arrival to the homestead.

The items were taken to the kitchen and presented to my doting wife. Visibly impressed with the delivery from the hunter gatherer.

First on the taste test, the calamari, delicious, cooked perfectly, not rubbery, battered lightly, aoili, delightful. Courgette is the star in this box, stunning.

The main course (Calzone, the pizza review will be hosted by Florence Andrews).

Opening the box eagerly hoovering up the scent of the spice, and tomato... that’s not enough to hide my awe, my sheer amazement, my disbelief at the size of this... hands down, the biggest calzone I’ve been presented with.

Cooked well, lovely tomato sauce and a large dose of rocket adorning the calzone.

Planning the attack... were going a half at a time, best case we win, worst case, we have lunch.

It’s delicious, slightly colder than I’d have liked, but that’s the risk with a take away! Mozarella, wonderful, chilli, delightful.

Would I visit again? Absolutely! Would I love to have a meal in? 110%

Eaten here so many times and always loved it but recently while dining here had an awful experience firstly was the waiter that answers the phone and seats you when you arrive (older gentleman with black hair quite tall) we were seated near the bar and herd him speaking with another member of staff in he’s native language thinking no one could understand him (I’m multi lingual) making very rude and disrespectful and sexist comments and remarks about a family on a table that he has seated.

Later I found a piece of food prep plastic in my Main course, I quietly and politely made the waiter aware of this and he was so abrupt saying where I can’t see, that’s nothing just a tiny bit just take it off of the bowl!! I asked him to take the plate and could I have something else he took the plate and ignored me (same guy who was speaking about other guests earlier) didn’t get another main but when it came time for the bill the man hadn’t been removed but still paid for it as didn’t want the abrupt waiter to start shouting and make a scene in-front of all the other guests. Safe to say I won’t be returning more so over the actions of the waiter than the food, very very rude,disrespectful, abrupt and...
