A surprisingly spacious and comfortable venue with very enjoyable food, created by what was clearly a talented Chef, who ultimately cooked my desired meal to perfection.
Unfortunately, the standard of "Front of House" did not mirror the excellence in the kitchen. In particular, the Restaurant Manger/Maitre D' - or however he styled himself - soured the evening utterly.
Much as I love meat dishes, I have a total abhorrence of bloodied, red and pink meats and will always ask for my steak to be "well done". A personal foible but, if I'm paying, then it will be cooked my way.
The episode began with the waiter taking the order and suggesting I have my meat cooked medium or medium-rare. I refused. We went through the malarkey at least once more and I explained. He scuttled off.
Shortly thereafter, the Restaurant Manager popped up at the table and the discussion about the cooking of my steak began again, only this time in a voice so loud as to make people from other tables look over, his bullying onslaught reaching the point where I felt completely humiliated but unwilling to budge over how I wanted my food cooked. He was absolutely insistent that I could not have the steak well done.
It was like being harangued by Walton's answer to Pol Pot, ramming his so-called "professional expertise" down my throat with a shovel.
My partner intervened, gave him a blunt delivery, told him to drop it and do as I asked. After attempting to argue with my partner (an ex-Chef himself) further on the matter he finally walked away having caused me extreme embarrassment, made a spectacle of himself, offered no apology and attempted to impose his will on his paying guests - those self-same guests who keep him in employment
Not acceptable.
Would I recommend? The food absolutely "yes". The bumptious little dictator on Reception?...

I had the absolute pleasure of dining at Buenasado in Walton on Thames with my girlfriend on a recent Friday evening, and I must say, it was an experience that left us thoroughly impressed. What made this dinner so special was not just the sublime Argentinian cuisine but the exceptional service we received from the restaurant manager.
He took the time to explain the menu to us, in such a detail and with so much passion that it felt as though we were being led on a personal culinary journey through Argentina. His recommendations, from starters to mains, and all the way through to dessert, were nothing short of spectacular.
We opted for his suggestions and each dish was mouth-watering, packed with flavor, and obviously crafted with skill and care. The food truly left a lasting impression and set a high benchmark for our future dining experiences.
The manager's in-depth knowledge of the menu and his ability to convey this so eloquently significantly enhanced our evening. His attentiveness and dedication made us feel more than just customers; we felt like honored guests in an authentic Argentinian home.
It's not often that you come across such detailed understanding and passion for the menu in the restaurant industry. The staff and especially the manager at Buenasado truly elevate the dining experience to another level. Their model of service is one that other establishments should aspire to emulate.
We left Buenasado with full bellies and warm hearts, our evening wonderfully enriched by our meal and the stellar service. We can't wait to return to enjoy more of what this gem has to offer.

Read moreVery impressive. It’s a 5 star spot. The first time I went was Sunday I had an expresso Martini and chicken salad at the table next to the bar; The supervisor and the bar man were super it wasn’t so busy. Yesterday I went for steak(ribeye/ancho), incredibly tender, ordered rare-medium was just perfect, grilled and shards on the out side and cooked to perfection. The triple cooked chunky chips and broccoli; wow. A coke to drink down with and for dessert their velvety expresso martini.
This whole time I have been travelling to eat Argentinian steak in Richmond. Having lived the last 3 years in brazil and dined at the best Argentinian steakhouses in the world. This steak was authentic to the point that if I closed my eyes I would be in Argentina or south Brazil where steak is always satisfying. I am so happy that I discovered my little Argentina only 5 mins walk.
You can tell that the values from the ownership to the people working day to day are respected and agreed on. Really and truly wonderful atmosphere.
Thank you to the team, chef, barman and the host of the night. You really made me happy. I hope that your success continues and resonates. See you again soon. Would recommend...
