My experience at the “The Walton Village Pub” , Walton on Thames…a junior member of staff (only staff member visible on duty Friday 31st January around 1520 hrs) spent 5 minutes (she argued with me 2 minutes does it matter?) talking to a guy who walked off the street with no appointment trying to sell the pub a product/service whilst a paying customer (me) was waiting to be served…the staff member was aware I was waiting as only 3 feet away however chose to ignore/acknowledge me… TRAINING REQUIRED for this staff member addressing her attitude to customers…when called out by myself politely for keeping me waiting for service she was rude and dismissive!…What did I do wrong other than attempt to a buy drink during a quiet time from the Urban Village Groups pub - The Village, Walton on Thames?

The staff members attitude was aggressive and dismissive… unacceptable!

Note to Urban Village Pubs - CEO, Training Manager and Pub Manager - Please (I understand it’s an ongoing programme that always needs to be addressed) educate/train this particular member of staff (she is losing your group revenue) and all others.…When a paying customer is waiting because a sales guy without appointment is taking up their time…Dont take it out on the customer ..deal with the sales guy politely…refer them to manager or head office….don’t keep paying customers waiting and then have an attitude with the customer because they experienced/witnessed the situation and mentioned it without even an acknowledgement or apology for keeping them waiting!

A paying customer always takes priority - You do not keep them waiting at the bar whilst chatting away to a sales person who actually asked to speak to the manager!

Simple formula - Unnecessary bad staff attitude/lack of service to paying customers = Loss off revenue to business!!

Apart from that my experiences at your pub was fine unfortunately you lost revenue because of your bar staffs attitude as I met my colleagues elsewhere!!!

I wish you all the best with your...

The food here is actually beyond my expectations. THE STARTERS were of a large quantity and filling. The prices are moderate. The burgers were nice but the chips did not taste fresh and were a bit tough. Chicken wings and hummus sticks were tasty. The toilets were clean, all but one dispenser had run out of soap. The drink service was ordered online from the table and came fairly quickly. I enjoyed the cocktails, they were very nicely presented. It was a busy night however it took forever for our table to be cleared. Overall it was a nice place for an evening out especially if you like rowdy and crowded places. Reflecting this morning though, I'm a great lover of books, I think using books as props, writing on them and using them to mark reserved tables is not in good taste especially vintage books, I would appreciate it if this was changed. I know they are old books but that is someone's precious work. In my opinion, books should be treated with respect. Just some constructive criticism nothing more. Thank you management for your nice and humble response. This is appreciated and makes me like your establishment even more. I ordered from here today in June. The buff chips are delicious and of a good portion loved it. Even though I enjoyed the bbq wings in my opinion are a little pricey for the...

The Craft & Grill is reborn as The Walton Village. The bar has moved to the opposite side, and the seating plan changed. The kitchen is now at the end of the bar and in full view. The old kitchen area is now a separate space known at the Village Hall, and is available for small functions - there is a glass door system which can close it off from the rest of the bar. Drink prices are reasonable for the area, and there are now double deals on house spirits. All the tables have high level mains sockets with USB points, and there is fast and free Wi-Fi without any hassle connecting. TVs with BT Sport are also now installed. The volume is down though, so you can keep track of the game without it intruding on your visit to much. Various deals throughout the week include £3.95 prosecco, 2 for 1 pizzas and 2 for 1 cocktails. Nice chilled atmosphere....

Had a lovely experience here, our server (a lovely lady with short hair and glasses) was very attentive to our table, friendly and genuinely cared about giving everybody great service, give that lady a raise! I had the "So Wrong But So Right" burger, a buttermilk chicken fillet with Waffles for the bun. Great value on a Sunday, £10 for the burger and a craft beer/cider. The chicken was very good for a pub burger, juicy and well seasoned. I'll definitely be returning here again for the food, the service and the vibes.
