Been reading about this place on social media and been dying to find out what the hype is all about. So here it goes...
WHOA! Wait, where did this restaurant appear from?! WOW! what an amazing experience! The food was stunning! We had so many Thai's in our time but nothing, nothing in the UK comes close to this place. Everything was fragrant, fresh, aromatic. The Tom Yum was full of flavours, tangy and on point. The homemade fish cakes were mouth watering, with fresh herbs & spices. The Chor Muang (little dumplings) were amazing, haven't tasted such mouth exploding party piece of flavour in a long time. Then came the mains, wow. The beef massaman was to die for, so creamy & rich but balanced perfectly with a hint of spice. Tried coconut beef for the 1st time, but wont be the last I tell you! Went very well with the creamy massaman as this coconut chilli & lime beef dish just "BANG!" wakes up your palette, with mouthful of freshness! Pad thai, well, all I can say is, perfect in every way... seasoning, moisture, freshness of chicken. The chicken was cooked fresh, so juicy. None of that pre prep rubbish you get else where serving dry chicken.
Very fast, prompt, efficient service, service with a smile! Excellent in every way. 5* all day long.
All those describing phases: "hidden gem" "little gem" "unique fine" "authentic" etc... its here. All here. Taste of Thailand for sure.
Cant wait to go back to try the rest of the menu. Very well done! And well done to the chef!
Highly...
Read moreA lot of you who'd been here may disagree with me on my review but each experience is different so here it goes.Nevertheless, The Chicken Pad Thai was delicious, although it can improve more on the flavour. It somehow lacks that peanuty taste, the chicken in particular. It doesn't have that authentic flavour, more of chicken breast which tastes like cardboard. The flavour wasnt really fresh, it was like it was thawed from the frozen and then mixed with the ingredients. That juicyness is missing. The portion was excellent which is excellent, because I love the flat noodles. The dessert was nice too. I like the combo flavour.
The bad point. -I didn't really feel the warm Thai welcome when we entered the restaurant. I am Asian myself so I was surprised about this. The staff lack that smily and welcoming aura. Looks like everyone had a very bad day. Here's other odd thing about this restaurant...I ordered a Jasmine Tea and my daughter wanted to taste this as well so I asked if we could have an extra cup, which was the size of a shot glass, but as a policy I will be charged twice for requesting another cup. One Jug of tea and two cups would be equal to two orders. I haven't heard...
Read morePUNISHING service We had a dinner experience filled with PUNISHMENTS. From the moment we arrived, we were late for 10 mins, and the staff constantly pressured about the time to give us the punishments for the late. Throughout the meal, the staff kept reminding us to leave “on time”, no time to enjoy the food. We even asked to pay when we were still having cold desserts, but at the mean time they still had available tables for the customers, and customers who arrived earlier than us are still sitting there - they just wanted to give us punishments. At the end of this meal, they said “almost canceled our reservation, but still serving” as if we should be grateful for their so-called generosity. Unfortunately, it is the customers who deserve gratitude for being willing to pay for such a terrible experience. Not...
