I went to this pub with a friend just for a quick drink and a catch up we sat outside first whilst a dog was on the roof of the pub barking at the customers I myself find this very off putting and bot something u want to see or hear whilst relaxing in a pub garden... we both went inside and ordered food I had the chicken burger whilst my friend ordered the steak pur with mash... when the food fi ally arrived after a very long wait my friend noticed that the steak pie had a lot of veg in it and only two pieces of steak this wasnt the issue tho my friend is allergic is mushrooms so when we spoke to the server she said she would speak to her manager about they could do. We waited a good 10 minutes before she returned whilst my food was going cold but I was still eating it... she said if they can swop it what would my friend swop it for.. from this conversation we had taken that the manager had agreed to swop the meals but actually after telling the server she would switch to a burger like myself she comes back and says we would have to pay for the extra meal as the manager had said we couldnt swop it.. I spoke to the young lady and stated that the conversation we had had 5 minutes previous hadn't of happened then as she had made us aware it was fine to swop, and asked her to go to her manager and make him aware that she had insinuated to us that the meal swop was ok, just after this another manager who is currently conducting an interview 2 tables away comes over where I explain the situation to her, all this time I have still got some food left and my friend has nothing.. the manager was very abrupt and very rude, I explained the situation and she stood in front of us and said to the server one of them would have to pay for the other meal.. this I must say was one of the worst experiences I have ever had in customer service, in the end the food was swopped and me and my friend ate what was edible and left very abruptly. I wont be going back this place does not know how to train staff or how to even run a pub.. horrible from...

I used to be a regular at this place but I shall never return again due to the poor food quaility and the rudeness of staff. I met a friend for some lunch so we sat and ordered, he had a burger (in fairness looked lovely) I ordered a jacket potato costing just over £6 (you would expect it to be cooked for that price) and my friend ordered fish and chips. Food came, my friend did not enjoy it so took his food to the manager and told her he would not like a refund but just let the chef know the food was appalling. I don't know what was said between both of them, I didn't touch my food as it was nasty but I do not like to complain or make a scene so I didn't say anything and went over to order a drink. I was shocked when the lady at the bar refused to serve me, I asked for her reason and she made me aware my friend had come over and disliked his food and was rude about it (even though he declined a refund to be polite). I was in so much shock I went away and sat down and thought if I have paid for food and don't nothing wrong apart from show respect in a place I used to visit frequently. So I walked back to the bar and explained to the lady I was a paying customer and if he has acted in a way you dislike he should leave but I shouldn't be penalized and refused a drink with my lunch I had paid for. My friend the told them about my food being hard and microwaved and they were completely indenial about their food quality and that we were wrong and should all leave or they will ring the police! To sit here and still feel upset and embarrassed by the incident with no apology from staff ifeel I needed to share my experience with others. I asked who the manager was and the lady said she was and there was nothing we could do about this. It's sad once a regular customer that will never return. Understaffed and staff need customer service training. I had applied for a job at this place but I will never work with people that can treat their...

I've never posted a bad review on somewhere before but felt compelled to after the shocking experience me and my friend had.

First glass was dirty, next glass was also dirty (gave up in the end and didn't grumble...just drank out of the bottle)

Clearly ordered the food but they put burger sauce on both of our burgers even though we stated they shouldn't.

Didn't moan but politely mentioned the error to the barmaid, the barmaid replied with "You ordered it wrong, I've done what you said"

The owner/manager came out and refused to give us a refund. Even though we explained we have a 2 o'clock meeting that we absolutely cannot miss.

He just continued to reiterate that HIS company policy is no refunds and that's final.

I could go on about the cheese not even being melted and just having a cold sliced slab of cheese and other poor things but I'd be here all...
