Based at the Cedar Court Hotel in Harrogate, this newly refurbished and re-branded restaurant Amber’s brings delicious, affordable fine dining cuisine in a beautiful, stylish setting. A hidden gem just a short walk from the heart of Harrogate.

Bringing together locally sourced, quality ingredients, Amber’s meticulous attention to detail provides diners a contemporary Yorkshire dining experience with a difference, in a superbly elegant setting. We were kindly invited to the VIP Launch evening last month. We loved our evening checking out this gorgeous bar & restaurant and it’s food that the chef’s excellently prepared.

We were offered a selection of the specially curated evening menu available Monday to Saturday 5:00pm- 9:15pm. Here’s what we enjoyed;

HOME CORNED BEEF BRISKET pickled vegetables, Heritage potato, brown sauce, sourdough crisp CHILLI & CITRUS CURED SALMON (GF) roasted beetroot salad, baby watercress, crispy capers, peppered cream ROASTED GRESSINGHAM DUCK BREAST (GF) buttered fondant, baby spinach, candied carrot, blackberry jus 80Z SIRLOIN STEAK roasted plum tomato, Portobello mushroom, dressed rocket, triple cooked chips. all steaks are cut from 28-day dry aged Hereford breed beef, sourced locally in West & North Yorkshire through Sykes House Farm Wetherby GLAZED APPLE TART (V) caramelised Braeburn apples, flaky pastry, clotted cream ice cream VALRHONA CHOCOLATE BROWNIE chocolate mousse, orange sorbet, chocolate scroll, berry gel Amber’s Pineapple Margarita – including a goody bag to make the cocktail at home

Everything was impeccable, delicious and cooked to perfection. We thoroughly enjoyed every course.

Our visit wouldn’t have been complete without a tour of The Imaginarium; an elegant private dining room. This opulent space is perfect for special celebrations, intimate events and sophisticated business meetings. Seating up to 28 guests, with a private bar, lounge area and state-of the-art meeting facilities, stylish decor and imaginative culinary thinking have been developed to create an unforgettable experience.

Visited Ambers for Sunday lunch with my friend and opted for the 3 course as was value for money. The start was nice but the start of the show was Sunday lunch - the beef was sirloin and cooked pink and the pork was pork loin and it melted in your mouth. Homemade Yorkshire’s and lovely fresh vegetables with a side added of cauliflower cheese which is the best I had out in a long time. We heard the serving team talk about a new head chef and how fabulous he was. For dessert which was light and perfect was the raspberry and basil eton mess which was perfect. Nice coffee to finish and it was worth every penny. Service was fabulous - we had the amazing Mr Gary who was attentive and so accommodating with nothing being too much trouble. The new restaurant at the Cedar Court has been done up lovely. The atmosphere is fabulous, and the tables have enough space between them so you feel like you have decent privacy when eating. We visited as a family with an elderly lady in a wheel chair and we had enough space to park the wheel chair next to the table and she was able to take a proper seat and dine. We tried the Sunday lunch and it was suffice to say that we all agreed it is now the best Sunday lunch in Harrogate. The service was great, even though there did seem to be a large wait between courses, but we didn't mind that as it meant we could chat and take a break between each course.
