Update 21-Dec=22 :- Thank you so much, guys, for providing such a wonderful proper pub environment, and such especially, superbly well-kept ales! This place is unquestionably #1 in Harrogate for real ale drinker's paradise..

Superb atmosphere and ambience! When you walk in, and Jaipur is on, AND you are recognised, ... that is A PROPER PUB! When Josh, or Adam, says "I know what you want, Pete?"

I love everything about the place. Don't ever change anything! Cheers, Pete Bradley

Fantastic place! Very atmospheric! I love it! And I love the impromptu welcome! It's 5* every time!

Update:- 26-May-2022 A "Real Ale" drinkers' paradise! All the cask cond ales are spot on, all the time. Everyone in there is so respectful to each other - it's a big "unwind" to the end of a manic week! "You want chips? ... go to 'Chip Shop!". As somebody once quoted to me, from an irate chinese takeaway owner. Well, from me, you want real beer? ... Go to "The Harrogate Tap". But don't expect chips! Crisps and pork pie are more likely. But what you will get get is, ... the BEST pint in Harrogate!

Update:- 14/12/2022:- still the best "real ale" house in Harrogate. This is how you do it. Brew it. Buy it. Tap it. Keep it. ... Then serve it! And this is exactly what The Tap does best. Experts in timing! You are so good at what you do! #1 from a QC Auditor. Cheers...

Have been here on a number of occasions and had no problems. However we visited tonight and two of our party ordered Bernard lager. They both decided that the lager was not as it should have been. When they questioned this they were told there was no problem with the beer and it was just down to the shape of the glass. My friends could not finish the drink so asked for a different lager and then asked if there was any recompense for not being able to finish their first lager. The member of staff said they still had to pay full price for the new lager and under protest they paid. However my friend asked for the wifi password so that he could write a review and suddenly the bar staff showed interest in the problem and offered to refund the money for the two new lagers which was accepted. However I think that the whole issue was initially not taken seriously and could have been solved very quickly with a bit more thought and avoided any unnecessary ill will if the bar man had just approached it with a better...

Warm, quiet, atmosphere. The south-facing windows add a nice dose of light on the rare sunny day. I had a half-pint of Palindrome Pale (£2) and a plate of olives (£2.80). They don't have much in the way of munchies, but there are plenty of places to eat nearby. I killed time here between buses on a very chilly day. The service was quick and friendly. The clientele were largely solo folks, like me, reading or kicking back. Very relaxing. But, I took a star off for the weird wash room: the sink is inside the toilet stall, but the hand dryer is outside the stall, forcing me to use creative moves to avoid opening the toilet stall door with my wet hands, yuck.

Jorvic and Casta having a mini break in Harrogate. Starting here in this wonderful station bar. Part of the super Pivovar pub collection. All great. This completes the set. Only our second trip to Harrogate. Twelve real ales to chose from. Casta told me to have the 4.2% best bitter " Cannon" by Tapped Brew. Excellent. Lovely two room bar with plush fittings, lots of wood panneling and leather bench seating. Some outdoor seating in front of the car park. No direct access to train platforms unless in an emergency. Great start. Well worth its place in CAMRA 2025 Good Beer Guide.
