Technically not "dine-in" as it's more of an outdoor cafe and the seating is all open air, but it's hard to beat the view or atmosphere here. There's no access by vehicle and it's a steep walk down and up so it's tricky to get down to if you have mobility issues, but I'd recommend visiting if you like to sit by the sea or having good food. Like, really good food. The Big Rock Burger was one of the best I've had. The prices aren't the cheapest, but they're definitely not the most expensive, especially for the quality of what you get. I even got items that aren't technically on the menu. Couldn't fault the service.

Anstys Cove isn't a sandy beach, or even a beach you can really sit on. Want to paddle board, swim, kayak, scuba dive, snorkel, or just throw stones? This is great and the cafe makes it 100x better.

Definitely...

dog friendly cove, they can go on the beach all year round great café .fantastic views out to sea, you can even you kiacks and rent them for a cheap well worth it café is a bit pricey as you'd expect for a cafe with such an amazing view but really great service and tasty which my mum, dad and our dog Freddie enjoyed Outside seating, very covid friendly staff were wiping down the seats and tables before people could sit on them my only concern is they weren’t wearing gloves when wiping them down with however staff worked hard and got our orders in and served up really fast also cleaning and making things safe in this tough time. We come back every year with out fail although we couldn’t the past two years as of covid. Will be going back but soon shhhh.....don't tell anyone else about it😳 it’s a...

Me and my partner call it a little piece of paradise! It's the most beautiful beautiful little cove with kayaks and paddleboards to hire also sun loungers too. The cafe is excellent with a wide range of food, drinks and snacks, it's also licensed to sell alcohol! Jeff and Lucy the proprietors and all the staff are so friendly and helpful and the food is first class. We often go down there for a full English breakfast 😋 or lunch and sit and look out to sea and enjoy the spectacular view. The Cove does have a small beach at low tide too.

So if you can manage the steep decent down, there are steps, and the walk back up, I manage it and I find walking difficult, it is well...

One of my favourite places to visit around Torquay for scenic views and good food/drink after a long walk. You can also hire sea kayaks and SUPs (depending on weather/sea conditions). I recommend taking the circular walk (just over 4 miles) from Meadfoot beach to Anstey's cove via Hopes Nose. Quite a pull up to the top just above the Nose, but well worth it for the views. Then down to the wonderful café at the cove for hot or cold food and drinks including local beers and wine. Finally return back to Meadfoot beach via Kent's caverns and Manor Gardens Wood ending up with a cold ice cream at the Meadfoot beach café!

Excellent for snorkeling and kayaking. Hire a kayak for £10.00 an hour, or double /twin for £16.00. Also available are paddle boards, Cafe and toilet facilities. The cafe has a good selection of food and drinks - including alcoholic, at a very good price. Eg 1/4 pound burger and chips with salad, and various sandwiches/paninis for £5.95. This is our first visit here, but definitely not our last. Kids and adults alike, will enjoy a half or full day out at Anstey's cove.
