I regret to say that our recent visit to Me & Mrs Jones was nothing short of a disappointing ordeal. The level of customer service we experienced today was truly appalling, leaving us with no choice but to share our dismay. From the moment we stepped into the cafe, it was evident that the staff lacked the basic courtesy and professionalism expected in the service industry. No smiles or hellos their indifference was astounding, and it felt as if we were an inconvenience rather than paying customers. We stood at the counter waiting to order our lunch and were finally acknowledged by a woman (Vicky we later found out) who appeared disinterested, unmotivated and frankly very unwelcoming. She was abrupt and dismissive and we immediately regretted placing our food order.
To add to the frustration, the quality of the food and beverages did not come close to compensating for the dreadful service.
It's disheartening to see a business neglect the importance of customer satisfaction, especially in an industry that thrives on positive experiences. In conclusion, our visit to Me & Mrs Jones was a regrettable experience, and after recommending this cafe to numerous friends we now find it impossible to recommend it to anyone seeking a pleasant dining atmosphere with...
Read moreSituated in an upmarket area of Torquay this place does really well with people of all ages but, in particular, ladies in pairs having tasty homemade pies and fresh salads and catching up on the gossip over a small wine. It also serves as a popular delicatessen for the locals who pop in to take advantage of the delicious food, cheese and olives on offer as well as chutneys and jams. We had spicy pumpkin soup and although it was palatable it wasn't spicy and was a bit bland.. So hats off........and well done to the owner who had learnt of our minor dissatisfaction .... and on paying the bill gave us voucher for 2 free soups and bread at a later date! Nice gesture. It has a nice relaxed feel to it and the staff are all very friendly and knowledgeable. Some of the tables are pretty close to each other so it's intimate at times. Nevertheless, it is a nice place and provides a perfect location for breakfast, lunch or afternoon tea with lots of homemade cakes! Wellswood is a mile or so from the Strand at Torquay and there is regular buses passing by. There is parking alongside all the Wellswood shops which allow free parking for an hour or so.....but well used!!...
Read moreLovely place, great decor and the undercover outdoor area is a nice little extra when the weather's nice.
The food is great quality too and worth the price as they use quality ingredients and a great selection of home made in-house items for all diets.
The place can get very busy I feel for the above reasons.
What let's this great place down is the staff, although some staff members are fine, others seem less willing on the customer care front and couldn't give two hoots. Some seem like they don't want to be there and customers are just a hindrance with a rush rush attitude with no smiles or thankyou's. It's a shame as like I say it is a lovely place but let down by some staff.
I have used this place many times, however unfortunately it's no longer my go too other than a last resort, purely for the reason of some staff making it an unwelcoming...
