Masons Arms — Restaurant in England

Warning for Vegetarians. First impression, it seems like a pub for regulars who appear to like it. The restaurant is dark and gloomy; needs a good clean, doesn't seem to have changed since the 70s. Went for Sunday lunch: the positive is that the food was good and plentiful. However, not at all interesting for vegetarians. There is no alternative to the meat, just a plate of dry veg with undercooked brocoli and overcooked potatoes that looked like pieces of charcoal which seemed to have been selected for the vegetarians as the veg on the other plates was fine I would have complained but had gone as guests of another couple. Would be fairer to say vegetarians are not catered for. Will leave it to the regulars in the future. I don't think the landlord will miss us as he had a disinterested, couldn't-care-less attitude. I can not comment on the food here... I never eaten here due to the facts I walked in to order a meal here and was asked if I booked a table for a Sunday lunch I reply no and the barmen said if u haven't booked a table u can't eat here as we are fully booked I ordered a pint and looked at the dinning area and low and behold only 2 people eating in there hardly fully booked do not eat here guys unless u have time to phone up to book a table in a half empty pub blood ridiculous. Pub itself was ok. Dogs allowed in bar not restaurant. Restaurant looked dark and dingy and old fashioned. Ordered a coke, was asked if we wanted a can of proper coke for £2 or a pint of fake cola for £2.50.. we opted with fake which wasn't actually too bad. Was told 2 4 1 on meals but prices were exorbitant. Gammon was £20 and steaks from £28 upwards. Even a Southern fried chicken burger was £20!!
