Horrible experience, never been treated like that anywhere, AVOID! We went there for a pre booked buffet. There was nothing to choose, just couple dishes, can't even compare to any other buffet (only 2 meat courses), nothing to choose for children. Food quality was just average. Just one set of plates and cutleries, they don't collect anything from table unless You finish, so for us means take one plate and bye. We just finish eating that was about 1 hour after entering restaurant, only start enjoying our drinks and we've been served bill to pay. When we asked what's going on, they told us they have another bookings and we have a maximum 30 mins to leave. This made us furious. At the beginning they were nice, smiling etc. But later started to be arogant, give us that nasty glance like f... off. They keep coming to our table and hasten us. That was absolute non verbal abuse. This all was unbelievable that someone can treat his customers like that. We were sitting in stress and only subject was this behavior. All that situation shouldn't have place if anyone could inform us there's any time limit before. But no-one said anything, nothing during booking, no information like this on their website, posters, in their restaurant, just nothing. We planned to have nice time and spend there couple hours drinking and having fun. Instead we were forced to leave. So overall this was huge disaster. Even food (one plate average food) was greatly overpriced. DO NOT RECOMMEND, AVOID...
Read moreIf you're looking for fantastic Indian food with a welcoming atmosphere, look no further than The Baltistan. This local gem consistently delivers a wonderful dining experience, and it's become our go-to spot—especially for a relaxed date night. From the moment you walk in, the staff are genuinely welcoming and attentive, which really sets the tone for a great evening. The atmosphere is relaxed and comfortable, making it a perfect place to unwind and enjoy your meal. Now, let's talk about the food! Everything we've tried has been delicious, but we have a few stand-out favorites. As vegetarians, we're thrilled with the variety; the menu offers plenty of delicious options beyond the usual suspects. In particular, the vegetable dansak is a perfect balance of sweet, sour, and spicy flavors, and the Balti is always rich, aromatic, and perfectly cooked. We've been regulars for a while now, and we've never been disappointed. We always recommend The Baltistan for its amazing food, lovely staff, and inviting atmosphere. Go ahead and book a table—you...
Read moreVisited The Baltisan on the off chance that they would cater to a Vegan diet, and I was pleasantly surprised that they are more than happy to do so. I spoke with the manager when I arrived who advised that he will make sure that he personally takes our tables order to ensure my order was correct and that they could provide a vegan option and he could explain ingredients used in their dishes.
The food was great, I ordered a Vegetable Byriani with an Aloo Gobi side (£8.95 and £3.95 respectively). Portion size was perfect, if not just a little too much.
The staff were very friendly and attentive, good atmosphere and clean dining area throughout.
Pricing was fair, for seven people the bill came to a total of £130, this included drinks.
As a side note, the restaurant is celebrating its 20th year of business throughout July and will be offering 50% on food and drink (excluding coffee and desert, Wednesdays only) for patrons with a valid voucher which will be presented to you at the end of your meal if you visit...
