As my order was delayed by over 90 minutes, I decided to call the restaurant to ask where it was. The man who claimed to be the owner was utterly rude, said there was a mix up with orders and that is why my food was going to be delivered late. When I mentioned that I did not receive any notification abpot the delay, and actually had been given a time slot followed by a message saying the order is on its way( except no sign of order-until now -which is now about 2hrs since I ordered the food, he said casually that he may have pressed something by accident so that is why I received a notification about my order being on its way within a specified time. He raised his voice , shouted, spoke over me and when I said that I would like to speak to his manager, he said that he was the owner. I asked for a refund- he said he does not deal with refunds and that I need to contact Just Eat -he did not know how it works when asked. When I said that I would need to leave a negative review for the restaurant, he told me that he "does not care about my review" several times. I could not believe how rude, arrogant and shouty this man was. If that is the owner, this restaurant will not last, which is a pity as I was a regular customer-clearly not a valued one. My order was cancelled by the restaurant seconds after this awful conversation leaving me perplexed. Soon after I received a phone call from someone claiming to be a driver ( Ibrahim, if I remeber right) apologising for this man's behaviour and claiming that they would still deliver my food and that I would not be charged for the order. I was cut off half way through and no sign of food either. awful experience and definitely last order... About an hour later ( so now way over 2hrs since placing the order), I managed to get through to the driver who reassured me in the first conversation that my food was going to be delivered without charge, only to find out now that he does not even have the food. The boss proceeded to take my order with total attitude but when my friend ordered after (he didn't know we was together at this point and my friend is Muslim) his attitude changed. Finding an insect in my food is not only a clear sign of complete negligence toward hygiene and customer safety, but the response from the staff was even more appalling than the incident itself. Instead of an apology, I was met with rude and unprofessional behavior, which shows that this place lacks not only basic food quality standards but also the slightest respect for its customers.
There is absolutely no excuse for such conduct and negligence. It’s disheartening to see an establishment, which should be trustworthy, completely disregard the trust and well-being of its patrons.
