Bayleaf Indian Restaurant — Restaurant in England

First time visiting this little restaurant and it won’t be our last. On arrival we were greeted by 2 extremely friendly staff members, we were given plenty of time to choose our meal from a good extensive menu. We opted for the early bird special of Bhuna prawn on Puri to start and Chicken rogan Josh for main with pilau rice. We order a peshwari naan extra and a couple of poppadums and a portion of chips as they looked amazing on the website picture. The portion sizes were brilliant! We weren’t pressured into rushing our meal. Everything was just nice and chilled. There were a few people in during our meal but the noise levels didn’t go stupid like some places these days. The total bill was really reasonable even with the hubbies pint of Cobra on top and the extras we chose. Latifah had a nice chat with us after our meal and we told her we would definitely be returning on a regular basis. They also do take out meals as well as sit in.

The only downside is the lack of parking but we struck lucky when the shop owner next door was leaving for the day so we...

Trying the Bay Leaf after the ownership changed has to be the best decision this year, it is now our go to restaurant for indian cuisine...the food is outstanding and flavoursome from the poppadom and pickle tray through the full menu. After trying probably about a dozen main courses/starters the biggest problem is deciding what to order, the atmosphere in the restaurant is great and carry out deliveries are prompt and hot. Once you are known you are given a great reception every time you enter the restaurant. Absolute deserving of my 5...

Afraid to say we were very disappointed with the Bay Leaf tonight. We've eaten in the restaurant a few times many years ago and were always more than happy with the experience. Tonight we decided to try out the delivery service as we've fallen out of love with our regular curry house. Alas we made a huge mistake! The delivery was 45 minutes late, the food was cold and the Chef's Special Shabzi Jalfrezi we ordered from the Vegetarian Mains section of the website had meat in it!
