Incredibly Rude Staff. We visited Bod in Alsager on the evening of Wednesday 21st June. My daughter had passed her driving test on the Monday and also passed her 2nd year Uni exams on the Wednesday, so we celebrated by going for a meal and then afterwards called into the Bod for a drink.

My daughter and husband went to the bar and I went to get a table outside. We had probably had one sip of our drinks when we were approached by a blonde staff member who demanded quite aggressively for ID for my daughter who is 19. My daughter reached to get her ID and then remembered that her provisional licence had been returned in order for her full licence to be issued.

We explained this to the blonde member of staff and she instructed my daughter not to touch her drink as she was under age. I informed her that I had a photo on my phone of the provisional license and also a photo of her passport. My daughter also had her student ID card displaying her date of birth but she declined to look at any of them stating that she would only accept a hard copy driving licence. She then reiterated that she was not to touch the drink and she returned to the bar.

My husband and I took my daughterโ€™s full drink to the bar and asked for a refund. The young girl who served my daughter and husband had actually served my daughter on the previous Saturday with the same drink, a cider and they had actually had a discussion about the pronunciation of โ€˜moutโ€™ cider. This said member of staff then actually lied and said she thought the cider was for me, which didnโ€™t make any sense as I had a Prosecco, so thatโ€™s still 3 alcoholic drinks.

The blonde still refused to refund the cost of the cider again stating that โ€˜she is under ageโ€™. I again asked her to look at the photos or the student ID card and again she refused.

I understand that bars have licensing laws and had she been asked for ID at the bar prior to being served and they had not accepted the forms of ID that would have been fine if they refused to serve us and we could have gone elsewhere but to let us pay for a round of drinks and then come and tell us that she was not to consume the drink is unacceptable and this is where some common sense and discretion should have prevailed.

The blonde then told us we were not welcome and to leave. This really put a downer on our evening, 2 middle aged people having a drink with there daughter to be treated like this is unbelievable. It wasnโ€™t as though she was out with a rowdy gang.

We are regular visitors to the Bod with friends and family but they have most definitely lost our and our friends business. The Bod should be taking responsibility to educate and train...

First time visiting BOD in Alsager this morning and I was very impressed!

The venue was clean, nicely decorated and had a great relaxing and friendly atmosphere.

The staff were really friendly and attentive and nothing was too much trouble.

We ordered from the breakfast menu and I had the gluten free BOD breakfast and a large americano. There's a great selection of both food and drinks (alcoholic, locally sourced and non-alcoholic) and the prices are great given the quality.

The food was fresh, tasty and they source their produce locally which is always a plus for me and it showed through the taste and quality of the food, no frozen muck here! ๐Ÿ™Œ

The coffee was also locally sourced, fresh and high quality unlike some of the better known chains ๐Ÿ‘€

Some helpful notes: ๐Ÿ• The venue is dog friendly (paws on the floor) ๐Ÿš— There's a free car park around the back. โš ๏ธ There's lots of gluten and dairy free options. โ˜€๏ธ Lovely outdoor seating area at the front. โ™ฟ There's accessible parking and ramp access. ๐ŸŽ™๏ธ They have live music on Friday nights.

A great time was had and although it's not on my doorstep, I'll be visiting more often as it's well worth it's really close to a great selection of small independent and...

From walking through the door and being totally ignored/ snubbed by the two staff working at the bar, my experience in this establishment was beyond terrible. When placing my order I was asked what table I was sat at. I tried to describe and was the made to feel stupid for my description. I asked if there were table numbers to be told - no (and all the staff found this stupid and confusing too). The server then bought out a map of the seating plan and asked my to locate my table off this. Helpful. I was made to stand waiting for my order at the bar whilst other customers had it taken to their table. I had been there the week before so I knew this wasnโ€™t normal. My sausage sandwich was dumped on my table by the same grumpy lady that served me at the bar before she slowly walked away. I had to ask for a knife and fork, which she slammed down on her return. Food very average, service beyond a joke. Donโ€™t waste your...

Not awful, but not great. Visited last night for drinks, and this morning for breakfast. Last night was nice - there's a great atmosphere, drinks are reasonably priced and felt very clean/tidy. Service was a little slow, but that's to be expected. This morning however, asked for an English Breakfast to be told there's no sausages for another hour, so we'd have to either have more bacon or black pudding. Fine, it's likely the delivery hadn't come yet. We then ordered milkshakes, to be told there's no straws, but we could have a spoon instead. Not sure how they can serve milkshakes with no straws. Won't be returning for food, but will return for an evening for drinks.

We went for breakfast this morning, delighted that they were dog friendly. I had the eggs Benedict with spinach and smoked salmon on a toasted muffin, it was very good, my son had the full English which consisted of, sausage, bacon, beans, egg, mushrooms, tomato and toast which he also enjoyed. We both had a good cup of tea too. The staff were friendly and, although there were a few people already there, we didn't have to wait long. My son bought 2 of the rather exotic and delicious looking cakes to take for work, although expensive, they looked wonderful. We had a very pleasant visit, thank you.
