Your response to those two reviews âthey are old enough to know betterâ is an absolute load of cobblers. Weed? Swearing? You know this is not true. You, and when I say you, Iâm referring to Sarah, could not give me any reason for refusing to serve us when I asked to speak to you. I was polite and cordial. The poor bar lad and your husband looked embarrassed. For the duration of our (short) stay, we were sat on a table, by ourselves, not loud, not swearing, and definitely no weed. Iâm actually laughing whilst typing this. We didnât fit in. Plain and simple. If you want to be a local pub for local people, put a sign on the door saying outsiders not welcome, or move to Royston Vasey.
Edit post owner response: keyboard bullies? You make libellous and false claims for your reasons for not serving us, and post them in the internet. If you were concerned about drugs, or us not leaving, swearing etc, you could have spoken to any of the officers in the 3 police cars parked outside. But you wouldnât, as there was no evidence to find. Yes, publicans have the right to refuse service. I donât have a quarrel with that. What I have issues with is the hypocrisy with which you run your establishment. There were a number of groups, louder, swearing and definitely more intoxicated than we were. If the service industry has issues it isnât to do with honest internet reviews. Take a look...
Read moreWe decided to go here with some friends. I had brought a drink out to my girlfriend on the front not realising there were a no glass outside the front policy, after one bar man came outside and let us know, we immediately went back inside. We were greeted at the door by the owner and explained that we were sorry and didnât mean too.The owner shouted at my girlfriend and said he didnât care so we just left it at that. After about 1 1/2 hours my girlfirend went to go and get us drinks as she had been doing all night, the wife of the owner then refused to serve her after taking her order and allowing her to pay for 6 drinks. so she just went outside and left it. The owners and also a waitress then came outside to us and told her she needed to leave. The owner threw her full drink into the grass after and said she was swearing at them. She didnât swear once and multiple people were with us. we ended up leaving and going to the Mere with much better service and atmosphere. Incredibly rude and disrespectful. Not the first time this has happened to people which we were told by the bar staff who said they are strict. Lovely service by the waitressâ. On top of this, they also locked the door, none of...
Read moreI regret to say that my visit to The Lodge Inn was an utter disappointment, mainly due to the landlady's appalling rudeness. From the get-go, she made us feel like an inconvenience rather than valued customers. Her brusque manner and complete lack of courtesy were astonishing.
The pub itself is mediocre at best, with uninspired decor and a lackluster ambiance. However, what really ruined the evening was the landlady's hostile attitude. She seemed irritated by simple requests, and her dismissive responses made it clear she had no interest in providing good service.
Overall, The Lodge Inn is a place I would not recommend. The unfriendly and unprofessional behavior of the landlady overshadows any potential charm the pub might have. If you're looking for a pleasant pub experience, I suggest you find...
