We've lived in this area for over 8 years and known about Bombay Palace but never been in before - what a revelation! Quite a cosy, basic restaurant, the first thing to note is it's not licenced for alcohol so you have to BYO - I quick trip to Waitrose just down the road and back with a nice bottle if white wine and 3 large bottles of Cobra that came to around £12 in total, and it is the cheapest drinks we've had in a restaurant in years! The staff are great and it's a really good menu with good value prices - lots of choice with some less familiar dishes as well as all the usuals you would expect in an Indian restaurant. One word if warning - there are quite a few dishes marked as Vegan but ask to make sure - the vegan vegetable balti was great, but the Naan bread it came with had ghee (butter) on it. They swapped for a plain tandoor bread, which was fine. The food was absolutely delicious and great portions too ... between three of us, we has enough to take home in a 'doggy bag' for another full meal! This is now our go-to restaurant for a really good curry in Bournemouth!

I came here with friends and we were all so impressed. The service was a solid 10/10… friendly, and quick. The food was absolutely delicious and everyone at the table was pleased with their meal. It’s one of the best Indian restaurants I’ve been to in the area. A great spot to bring friends. 😊

Starters were really good. We ordered chicken and vegeterian starters. More importantly, they were friendly and especially girl who served us made my kid a birthday card on the spot which moved us. Thank you so much @Bombay palace

What a disappointment. We went here for years under old ownership who is related to new owner. When he took over he said it would be even better. Booked with a friend for her birthday and asked for the quiet round table because we have a husband with tinnitus. We arrived to find our table had been given away with everybody blaming each other for who took the order and who forgot to write it down. We were then told we would be given a free drink to make up for it. This never appeared. The service was slow, the waiter was quite rude. We ordered the rose wine, they didn't have it so brought another and said it was the only one they had, but when we ordered a second bottle they produced another one. My husbands meal was forgotten... We were advised to 'give him some rice... We are just cooking his'. Never got offered anything after main course, and no liqueurs which was the norm before, not even for my friend's birthday. Added to this the lamb had gristle all the way through it. I told the waiter who said 'it's not our fault... Its new Zealand lamb, they cut it for us so sometimes it's not good.' So sad that what was a good restaurant is...

Experience started with a man on the phone who didn’t sound like he wanted any customers. He muttered things very quickly as if to move you on to the next. His tone was arguementative even though we didn’t disagree (at this point) on anything? Asked him if I can pay by card over the phone, again he didn’t really explain just argued with himself over it 😑 when he did eventually take my card details, rather than wait and confirm all is ok, he immediately said “ok bye now”. I had to ring back to make sure it got through alright and when I did the man on the phone not only sounded confused by this but annoyed that I rang back?? Delivery driver turned up not knowing anything as he had been lumbered with 3 different orders and 0 instructions. By the way... I ordered butter chicken how ever I received a poor excuse of a Korma. Why do more than half your dishes contain loads of unnecessary coconut??? Awful. This place used to be awesome...
