C J'z English & Continental Cafe — Restaurant in England

Thought it was expensive compared to better establishments. Wanted ham sandwich on bread. They didn't have any ham, but when we didn't want anything else they sent a worker to the shop for some ham. When he came back from the shop, he went straight into the kitchen area. He did not wash his hands. He continued to get the ham out of the packet and put it on the bread to do the sandwiches, with his bare hands. He brought it to us, on thick brown granary bread, not even cut in half. It didn't taste nice at all. We did get a mug of tea which was a good brew. There was a worker sat at table on his computer, he got up went into the kitchen area, and started pulling his trousers up. He then started cooking food for other customers and he did not wash his hands either. No hygiene shown at all. Toilets was not clean and there was no soap to wash your hands. There was a tatty piece of mat near where the counter was, this was secured with black tape. It looked awful but was a risk to the staff that was carry and serving the teas ect, from behind the counter. Very disappointed with our experience and the food. We will never go in...

Disappointed with the food. when expecting the same standards of food that you got from eating inside the cafe and comparing it to what we have just got delivered was total opposite ends of the spectrum.

The once generous portions are now slim pickings. My panini fillings where nothing like what they used to be, very few onions and mushrooms, only a tiny bit of ham cut into tiny peaces, a small amount of cheese (which was the most shocking as the cheese used to be plentiful) and if there was mustard in it, you couldn't see or taste it, leaving the panini almost tastless in comparison to how they used to be. This was the same for my friends chicken and bacon panini.

The usually fantastic coleslaw seemed to be missing mayo. I think that perhaps before, there wasn't the need for a larger portion of chips with your meal because the paninis used to be so filling but deciding to reduce the portion of chips at the same time as the paninis having hardly anything in them is maybe not the best move.

Totally unforfilled and disappointed with the food today. I hope you get back to the way...

We have just read the reviews from Keira little and Karen little they came into the cafe on 17th October baring in mind they was already banned from the cafe 8 years ago they ate the food and they did the same trick they did 8 years ago (hair in the food) so I’ve just came back from delivery when I walked in to the situation immediately I recognised them as the women was in a wheel chair her daughter has obviously grown up since then the daughter was nice and never said anything but the older woman was extremely rude and talking down to the staff in a bad tone so immediately I offered the full refund and said to her this is the second time I’ve told you now do not come into my cafe again as you are a rude person so clearly she is a liar as she got the full money refunded I just want people to know that if anyone is to read reviews from these people it is all lies I am really disappointed in the young woman as she was really nice I can only assume her mother has told her to do so.
