We had a lovely meal and we'd be very happy to eat here again.
We went here for brunch on a week day.
We were the only customers initially and got a comfortable table in the front window.
Our order was taken straight away. I had scrambled eggs on toast with bacon (they hadn't got any sausages) and my wife had double scrambled eggs on two toast.
We had two Americano coffees. The cups were of various designs, and it's part of the cafés uniqueness. Size wise they were about the equivalent of a regular or medium coffee. Very good blend; strong but smooth.
The food arrived after about 10 minutes. Attractively presented and with plenty of flavour. We both enjoyed it a lot.
Total cost was £15.15, which for the location and quality seems a fair price.
The cafés decor is in keeping with its name, with cloud shaped boards on the wall advertising today's specials and other menu items.
The two ladies serving and cooking were both very friendly and welcoming.
The café is small with only six or seven tables, plus a couple of others outside on the pavement.
The entrance is step free, but the door is too narrow for a wheelchair. Obviously the outdoor seating could be used in good weather. There aren't any toilets...
Read moreDreadful. The service was rude. I was trying to check out the nibbles in a glass case at the front, but all she kept doing was pushing me sit down sit down sit down. I want to look at what is on offer, I should have said and then I should have left while I was ahead of the game!
Anyway, I sat still not knowing what was available for nibbles. She came over with the menu and within 30 seconds she was back and pushing to see if I was ready even though I was still obviously actively reading the menu. Pushy. But I said what the heck, and ordered a steak pasty. It was god awful. SO little steak in my passtie that if you put all the little quarter inch pieces in a pile, they wouldn't add up to a teaspoon. NOT an exaggeration. The tea was good.
The decor was one step above charity shop, (except for the prettily painted cloud ceiling, but I'm not eating the cloud ceiling and I'm certainly not looking up all the time). You could sit at one of two little tables on the tiny sidewalk outside. 17 pounds! Just because they were lucky enough to secure a very good location does not mean that it is worth your time or...
