Food and service were excellent.

If you are entrusted with the care and feeding of a vegetarian of some variety then the majority of the menu will suit, but meat eaters will be satisfied with their options.

Portions are on the generous side of ample and the accompanying salads fresh and worth eating. My wifes lunch was a good slice of wensleydale quiche which was tasty, warm and came with a trio of salads, which being a normal human she could not quite eat. I, being both fat and very hungry had a sharing platter that the staff member tried helpfully to warn me was a lot of food for two people and I should perhaps reconsider tackling on my own. It consisted of a large and delicious sausage roll, five or six thick slices of truly excellent ham, two wedges each of three flavours of wensleydale, a very tasty piccalilli, pickled red cabbage, four slices of good crusty bread with butter, and a significant hillock of very tasty salad. I did eat it all, and my wife's leftover salad, but only needed a light supper that evening.

A lovely little cafe in the heart of hawes. They serve teas, coffees and snacks tho the snacks come in yorkshire portions (large).I sampled the homemade tomato and roast veg soup-wow!! It was amazing it was served with a thick slice of crusty bread straight out of the oven -ive honestly never tasted better. My husband had an open prawn sandwich which was equally as good ,a generous helping of prawns and sauce on a bed of lettuce atop a thick slice of the same homemade bread lightly toasted and served with a crisp salad.He normally leaves the salad part but this time he cleared the plate.The staff we saw were all really friendly would definitely recommend this little gem to anyone...

With all the Covid issues, it's hard to feel comfortable or safe when you need to stop and eat (mainly because we didn't prepare, but we were on holiday). The girls in the cafe were great, well organised, everything was disinfected after each table became free, they'd spaced everything out. It felt safe and comfortable. All this before we get onto the food. I was served the biggest homemade fishfinger butty I have ever seen, with lots of slaw and salad too. The food was goddam tasty, extremely good value for money and I left full and happy. Obviously, this is all credit to the team that run the business, it was brilliant. Highly recommended and we...
