I stopped for coffee last Sunday morning. I was really disappointed by the state of the business and the quality of the drinks. To begin, I really believe that the café does not meet the lowest parameters of cleanliness as set out by the government. I was sad to see chairs, tables and floor in those conditions (see pictures). More importantly, service was absent. There was no staff cleaning or looking after customers during a busy hour of the day. The café was not full, but there were 3 members of staff who could've addressed this. With regard to drinks, coffee and hot chocolate were not exceptional, unlike other café neros, where one can have higher quality drinks. I can honestly say that the experience was unpleasant. I don't like writing negative rewievs, but in this occasion I really had to highlight this with the hope that the establishment will take this feedback on board. There's so much potential in the area, close to amenities and historical places, why not offering a good service and decent drinks to visitors and locals?

One of the most dirty and run down cafes I've been to. There are coffee stains everywhere on the floor and the walls! The seats look revolting and dilapidated. Some very questionable staining. There are cobwebs hanging in every single corner. The tables don't look like they've been cleaned properly. Why is nobody cleaning the area customers sit in. You charge extra to sit in ruddy and a run down premise. It's not very inviting and looks incredibly grotty. Also the front door is broken so you had to use the fire exit. It need TLC urgently.

Trainee barista who served us was very speedy and friendly. Decently busy which would account for the lacking of baked goods by the afternoon. The cafe is fairly warrenous, being narrow and long which makes some of the seating a little bit awkward but it still works. Dogs seem welcome at this location so keep that in mind.

Dear Café Nero Team,

I would like to share my experience during my recent visit to the Café Nero in Oakham, as I believe it does not reflect the high standards your brand is known for.

When I tried to scan my loyalty card, I was told that I could not use it to collect points because I only purchased food. The attitude and tone of the staff member were quite unfriendly, and I didn’t feel welcome, which was disappointing.

Additionally, I noticed that the tables were not properly cleaned. Another customer had to clean the table themselves before they could sit down, as it had been left dirty by the previous guest. This further impacted the overall experience.

I have always appreciated the quality and atmosphere of Café Nero, but this visit did not meet my usual expectations. I hope this feedback can be used constructively to ensure future visits are more...

Very good service, staff very friendly & pleasant, the gingerbread lattes were the normal great tasting nero drinks, just lovely & hot ! Well Well Well ...Wot a contrast I found in the seating areas @this venue, the place couldn't of been properly cleaned for months & months, infact it's in need of a deep clean for starters with ceiling cobwebs & coffee splashes on the walls, floors & chairs/ furniture are grubby too .A refurbishment in the future should be a requirement with wall paper decoration hanging off & paint /plaster falling off in view of customers, it may have a Food hygiene rating of 5 in the window but public drink areas are a tip ,get your...
