I would just like to thank the Capricorn for doing a fantastic job hosting our Black Tie event (Ball) 85 people in Goole had their best night in years, i personally need to thank everyone at the capricorn as it was faultless, greeted with drinks, every persons food was piping hot and probably the best 3 course meal i have had for many years it was beautiful. The staff couldn't do enough for us and was committed throughout the night, the band was great and the venue adapted marvellously with 60 people plus on the dance floor most of the time. Lovely open courtyard for a breather after dancing the night away under the stars, you couldn't ask for anything more from the night, it was a great success, without a doubt we will be booking this venue again for our functions. Worst meal ever, overpriced rubbish. Had a christening thought have a carvery go for something extra special to be left so disappointed. The food was awful veg hard that kids couldn't eat, coliflour cheese tasted of nothing, parsnips over cooked like eating twigs, stuffing tasteless, gravy like water, mash was tasteless smash and the beef under cooked and very fatty that you just couldn't eat it. A 16yr old carving the meat with painted false nails, no gloves and no hair net covering her long hair didn't have a clue what she was doing, we had to tell her she was using the wrong knife that's why she was struggling to cut it straight then next thing she was serving behind the bar. we were there on wednesday evening the 28th of august 2019 i ordered a steak and mushroom pudding and it was made of pastry not suet the gravy was like thick gloopy tar it was horrible we informed the waiter about this when she came to clear the table and half of my meal i left.my wife ordered a chicken burger that was made with 2 thin slices of processed chicken covered in bread crumbs the salad was dry and horrible and ther was very little of it .it was the worst meal out we have ever had and we would not go there again evenif the meal was free.the environment of the place it is in the celler of the building it was dark and dingy and there was a smell of dampness in the place.never again will...
