My husband found this place last year when we were at the Countess and I was waiting for my labor to kick off and he needed a warm meal. Now each time we come to the hospital for baby appointments this is our lunch stop. The baps are so tasty and filling that we devour them before even thinking of taking a photo. The doorstep toast is a nice bonus for our little one who loves to munch on bread. Very nice and caring staff who were always attentive to our needs. The only downside is there is no changing facilities, which is understandable being such a small place. Unfortunately wheelchairs also can't access the bathroom area.

I usually love the upton chatwins and would give it 5 stars, but today was an exception. Ordered the usual pork bap as the cut is always great and they load on the apple sauce and stuffing. For ÂŁ5.50 i expect the quality i always get but today it was disappointing. I received near to no apple sauce and a tiny amount of stuffing compared to what i normally get (keep in mind i ask for a lot). So this was again a disappointment for the price and i hope i dont experience it again.

Food was brilliant as always

Service on the other hand was horrendous.

I expected to wait 5/6 minuties for a take a way Yorkshire Pudding Wrap but ended up waiting 20 minutes.

Staff disappeared for 5 minutes before starting to make my food then took forever to make it. And then when it came to wrapping it up for me to take away, I have never seen someone take so long to wrap up some food.

By this point I was so annoyed I thought I’d time how long it took to wrap it in paper; 1 and a half minutes - TO PUT A WRAP IN SOME PAPER.

Now obviously I could have asked for a refund, but:

I no longer had time as I had to get back to work. They most likely wouldn’t have given me the food if I asked for a refund and I had no time to go somewhere else.

been going to Chatwins bakers for a while whatever town I'm in. Came here about a month ago and had a ham salad bap.Had to complain when I only got one piece of ham (not a thick slice)and a bit of salad.Really was not worth what I was being charged.Not a problem and sorted by another assistant.Today history repeated itself compared to the baps on display my no mayo bap which was cheaper has one slice of tomato ,one slice of ham and very little else.Driving down the road when my wife opened it so sorry will not be getting my...
