We stayed at the Premier Inn whilst visiting with family recently and ended up coming into The Mill several times during our stay - partially due to it's proximity to the hotel, but mostly because we discovered we loved the atmosphere in there and the service. Sadly, we didn't get to eat dinner there at any point (though family did and they had very positive feedback from it) but we did go in for drinks (alcoholic and not), desserts, and on our final day did have breakfast. Everything was excellent, staff were so friendly and the atmosphere was very welcoming and relaxed. Plenty of seating, a good menu, and loads of really cool stuff to look at on the walls. When we come back up to Chester, I imagine we will be back here frequently! (thought I had more photos but evidently was too hungry to take a picture of the excellent breakfast)

Really good Location opposite the countess of Chester hospital. Very well kept, clean, friendly staff, reasonably priced, Food came out hot, and was really nice! They have music playing in the background which covers alot of genres.. Just becareful on the car. Park as it is a pay and display, I'm not sure if you get that back or if it's free for restaurant users as we went with an elderly relative and they have a disabled badge. Over all I recommend a visit as you wouldn't be disappointed.

Sat outside in the little 'beer garden' with a drink waiting for someone in A and E. It is good because you can watch the main exit from the hospital for people coming out. It is small but enough, and appears to have astroturf for a surface.

Visited this place on a Saturday evening on May bank holiday weekend, and while it was very busy, the staff had time to chat and make you feel welcome. All the staff were helpful and polite and very cheerful. We were a party of 3 , 2 adults and a 6 year old we ordered drinks soon after arriving and were served immediately. We then took 10 minutes to take in the menu and decide what we wanted. We ordered at the bar with no que or waiting. The food did take an hour to arrive as they were very busy. We were kept well informed, and they did tell us our food was getting plated up and was on the way. When the food arrived, which was a mixture of gourmet burgers and selection of small plate meals, it was piping hot and all fresh and extremely tasty . We all enjoyed our visit even though there was a wait for the food to appear from the kitchen it was all excellent and very tasty. The final bill , as we opened a tab for food and drinks and desserts, was very reasonable. We will definitely be visiting again and have recommended the pub restaurant to family. Beware the car park is shared with the Premier Inn and you have to remember to register your number plate on the tablet at the bar as the car park has number plate recognition, so you don't want a fine, remember to record your registration. There are some disabled spaces, although narrow and next to a brick wall, which can be difficult to exit your car for some disabled persons. The pub overall was very inviting, friendly, cosy and comfortable atmosphere. The toilets and facilities were good too and very clean .. on the whole I recommend this pub and will be returning for a meal here again with family. So even though there was a wait for the food it did not spoil the overall enjoyment on our visit so full 5...

THE 3 COURSE CHRISTMAS dinner today a little disappointed. First I asked if there was beef I was informed no only turkey on the. C/D menu !. I was told by another customer he had had beef he said there was a variety of choice which I did not get offered when I booked a few weeks ago?? I 5hought strange but ok !! The roast potatoes where overdone so to hard & crisp couldn't chew same with the stuffing had to leave all of that which spoilt the dinner straight away, disappointed the sprouts were frozen not fresh . It made me wonder for the money it cost how much of it was fresh. Only had a slice of turkey on my plate, & it had alot of fat on it ?? cabbage was lovely, left the Yorkshire pudding. Starters where okay pudding was delicious. Staff where lovely welcoming & helpful . Just a pity the hiccup of the over cooked rock roasters & stuffing same, 2 main parts of the Christmas lunch..Did ruin the dinner today Atmosphere was relaxing. I'm not sure I can big up Christmas lunch there today sorry . A quite alot of customers said same about over cooked food spoilt it .. Many thanks though AW

Also lady below is very right for the price it was shocking . My son is a very good eater & left nearly...

I work in a charity shop near Chester with lots of lovely volunteers, with all the recent restrictions we have not really had a chance to get together so we decided to have a meal out and picked The Mill in Upton We arrived and we’re shown to our table and asked if we wanted a drink i ordered lime and soda The waitress and waiter seemed very nice and came to take our order I ordered the 3 course meal with a drink for £20 I asked the waiter which food it was with and he told me so I ordered and said I would another lime and soda with it please,it was a lovely meal and we all enjoyed it. When we went up to pay I said I had 3 courses and 2 lime and sodas, the waitress then tells me I can’t have the 3 course deal as I hadn’t had a coke or lemonade with it ,she never offered me one and even though when I ordered I had said I was having the 3 course deal it wasn’t mentioned so I had to pay individual prices for the food, I was happy to pay separately for the drinks,it was a shame after a lovely evening I worked for years as a waitress and would always explain the menu as part of my job More staff training is...
