Chequered Flag — Restaurant in England

Tonight was worst experience at the Chequerd Flag that we have ever had. Usually the food is great and the service is good. I ordered the sharers vegan nachos. I said to the manager when delivered that I ordered the one for two people. Which I paid 10.48. he said the portions are measured, I was really not happy with the size. And honestly it would have impacted my view of the restaurant. I very rarely ever complain about a meal or service but as I was really looking forward to the nachos I had complained. The manager offered to take the portion away and make another one. I didn't want to waste the food, I was just disappointed in the portion size as I had 30 nachos or partial nachos and 28 beans for the chilly. But instead of wasting it I would eat it. The taste was really nice. A little bit later the manager came to the table with another nacho sharer.

And explained that he wanted the customer to be Happy. I really appreciate him taking this step to turn around a situation that could have meant that I avoided the Cheque Flag in the future to one that I would rate as high customer service.

I know there is srinkflation everywhere so I guess it is to be expected that you have reduced the recipe for the menu item...but maybe just a smidge more on the nachos.

I have never been to Brackley, we were hungry and looking for a quick pint and some food.Upon arrival I found that the name of the pub was not George , which is displayed on the pub.We walked in and we noticed on right hand side, middle of the large space, the only TV I noticed was simply not working despite most people in other pubs were watching football.I looked around, nice big space , lots of tables, ice cream that you can by the scoop, noticed Christmas menu and festive menu.It was very confusing so asked a lady by the bar but was told it is menu for special pre order only, so was asked to look at regular menu.The staff was not sure about the deals and basically was told to look at regular menu after all, despite festive season. It was Friday and they, apparently had a deal on Friday pizza for a 5 , so I went up again and I asked if is possible and it is an actual deal.Was told yes.So happy , decided for a quick snack and upon checking with my partner what pizza we want to snack on I went to the bar once more and wanted to order the pizza. Sadly, again was disappointed, despite adverts all that did state any pizza for. 5 it turned out it was false advertising. The pizza that was on their regular menu was simply not in the offer.I was crossed.Again.After many attempts to try figure out deals and get the food we simply downed our drinks and went to get food somewhere else.Staff was ok.I was left very...

Popped down for a quick lunchtime fish and chips the other day. The food was lovely, fish was tasty and chips well cooked, overall a nice meal.

One small criticism. When ordering I simply asked for no peas or mushy peas as I am not a fan but was told this wasn’t possible? The reasoning being was that it was busy (the restaurant was very quiet) and they only do ‘set’ meals. If I was asking for a whole item to be changed to something else then I’d understand, but surely it saves time to not put peas on a plate and not waste the food? Im sure if I said I was allergic to them then they’d be removed, so this makes 0 sense to me, how hard is the task of not putting peas on the plate or simply not cooking them in the first place? I have never experienced this anywhere else before, baffling.

So, if you struggle with eating disorders or are a fussy eater then I’d avoid this place because they will not accept your request for any slight modification to the food.
