So me, My Fiancee, Our Daughter and my in-laws went to The Chimneys Today for food and drinks, It was my first time visiting the chimneys but my partner, Daughter and in-laws have all been before. We arrived at 1:30pm as we had booked a table for the Five of us, The occasion was my in-laws Diamond Wedding anniversary and also an early Father's day meal. We arrived the car park is Free and big enough for many cars, The exterior of the building was very nice. So we headed inside, The interior was modern and beautiful but with rustic charm, We were warmly greeted by a Waitress who seated us at our table. After a few minutes we ordered a round of drinks me and my daughter had a pint of Moretti, My Father in-law opted for a Glass of red wine 🍷, My Fiancee opted for a Bottle of Fizzy water and my Mother in-law went for a Gin and Tonic. For nibbles we ordered some olives and some Garlic bread with hummus, The olives were very fresh and tasted amazing and the Garlic bread and hummus were also delicious. So for mains I opted for the Fish and chips, My Fiancee and her Dad ordered The Pulled Beef brisket Sandwich with skinny fries, Our Daughter and my Mother In-law ordered Seabass with Prawns. The Food came and the portion sizes were generous enough, My Fish and Chips came with tartar sauce and mushy peas, The Fiah was amazing, extremely Fresh, Huge portion, Home cooked chips and the homemade Tartar sauce was delicious. Everyone really enjoyed their food, It was well presented, Well cooked and absolutely delicious, So for desserts My Father in-law had Vanilla ice cream, My mother in-law went for the Apple and Blackberry crumble with Custody and I opted for Stucky toffee pudding. Food wax absolutely amazing, Very polite and friendly staff, Restaurant was spotlessly clean, Attentive staff, Free Car Park, lovely setting, Lovely building both inside and out. 5☆ We highly recommend The Chimneys in Hooton.

We have large family get togethers at the Chimneys and the staff are so accommodating to any requests. The atmosphere is wonderful, no noisy kids running around screaming. It's cozy but beautifully presented. The cocktails are super fancy and taste amazing. But let's talk about the food. Holy moly, it's sensational. Every single main meal that came out looked like art and the taste was just amazing. You know when you take a bite and sink into your chair and go 'oh my God that's so good' .That is the level of the food. My personal favourite is the belly pork. I've had the signature burger before and that's really good too. I went for the pavlova this time for pudding and the whole party of 12 said my eyes were popping out my head when I saw it!!! Phenomenal. I'd absolutely drive all the way there, sit down and just order the pavlova day after day if I could. Please go and treat someone you care for to a meal out there. The staff are lovely, the atmosphere is relaxing and the food is divine

We visited for drinks about 12 months ago, when The Chimneys first reopened following a very extensive and attractive refurb. At the time, we were somewhat dismayed: the spaces felt hugely over-lit and lacking in atmosphere, despite tasteful furnishings and finishes etc. So we never returned, despite fully intending to come back for a weekend brunch. Today, we popped in for lunch on a whim and were delightfully surprised. There was a buzz for a midweek session (they offer a set lunch that’s good value), service was v professional and our food was rather good (certainly by Wirral pub food standards, eg. I preferred the menu to The Red Fox). Glad to see decent vegetarian and vegan options. We are coming back when they have the cosy fires lit (everybody round here seems to be waiting for Ian the sweep!). Thank you.

Questionalble service?

Really disappointed today, after visiting this restaurant several times before. We booked a table for two people, on arrival we had to wait about five minuets to be seated, not a problem. We eventually ordered some drinks and our food, that was fine starter and main were ok.

When our mains were served my husbands came out first and the waitress was rudely interrupted by another customer who shouted across asking her if he could order desert. The waitress served my husbands main then went to take the order of the other diner who wanted dessert. I then had to wait until she had finished taking his order for main to be served, then disappeared. I did want to ask for some condiments. I waited patiently to try and get the attention of other staff members, 10 minutes later I gave up and approached the bar to ask as my food was getting cold. It was also difficult to order more drinks. At this point I was still ok as, after all, it wasn't the fault of the waitress that a customer rudely interrupted her.

Once we had finished eating our mains the plates were collected and I asked if I could see the desert menu. We ordered a desert, then 2 minutes later the waitress came over and asked us if we can kindly move to the bar to have our desert as they have a big booking due in and they need our table. She did say she would also move our tab to the bar. We said yes of course, however, I said we no longer wanted desert as I didn't fancy sitting at the bar to finish my meal and our second drink. We had been at our table a less than an hour and I found it inappropriate and unacceptable to move us on, to accommodate another booking.

We went to the bar to pay our bill which was just under £90.00 as we had paid a £10.00 deposit prior. I mentioned to the man behind the bar that I wasn't really happy that we couldn't finish our meal at our table and that we had been there less than hour. The staff member brushed it off, he didn't really comment and wasn't really bothered.

We always choose the Chimneys as it’s great place for us and our babies (About 7 of us) to come and meet. In our group we have someone who is highly allergic to many food groups and dining out can be difficult for them, however, the managers at The Chimneys have always taken it very seriously, handled it with care and have created lovely meals for them ( another reason why we choose this pub). Unfortunately, the last time we came was a different story. Not only did the manager on the bar say that they couldn’t help with their request and have us feel like it was an inconvenience, when they finally agreed to do the same meal they had last time, the meal came with lemon on it (citrus being one of the allergens that they are highly sensitive too) and it had to be sent back. The manager did express his apologies and said that he thought she meant ‘Citrus Onions’, but in my view this is inexcusable, foolish and made her feel very anxious. I don’t like to complain and write negative reviews as I myself have worked in hospitality and know that they can be detrimental to a business. That being said, I thought it was important to highlight how crucial it is to get dietary requirements correct. I’m sure it wouldn’t be seen as such an inconvenience if a customer was to fall ill or worse. I would like to mention that the young girl we had as our waitress was fantastic and couldn’t have done anymore for us (it seemed that maybe she had more managerial skills than the...
