One of the best pub meals we have had in a long time 😊 Arrived without appointment for three people and were immediately seated. We ordered from the 2 for £15.50 menu. Leek and potato soup and calamari for starters, gammon, steak ciabata and lamb shepherds pie for mains. The meals were a nice portion, piping hot, very tasty and flavoursome. Evidence can be seen by the cleared plates. (Proof of the pudding is in the eating) Nice atmosphere, several different seating areas, well timed service by two great staff members. Would highly recommend.

Excellent Sunday lunch today. Served by Tyler who was lovely. The food was the best roast we’ve had in a long time - best in town I’d say. The lamb was cooked to perfection (we got the last 3) & chocolate orange dome dessert was fantastic. Great food, beautifully presented & top quality- thank you. The ‘roast’ photo is before the fresh veg arrived, the stuffing, pigs in blankets, cauli cheese & lashings of tasty gravy.

Excellent well run pub. With a relaxed atmosphere. Beautiful English pub with fantastic food and excellent service. Carl and Nate were very welcoming and looked after us really well. The food was delicious especially the chicken and vegetables Penang curry, to my surprise, it was better than the one that I had from Thai restaurant, hats off to the chef. Thank you for the great time!

Not a great experience for a special birthday meal..…we had booked a table on line and had confirmation of our reservation. We arrived at the pub and waited at the bar to check in. Un be known to us two people came in off the street and sat at the table reserved for us. Instead of the staff telling them the table was reserved , it was us who had to sit elsewhere and not the non booked people ….very unfair. However we got seated and ordered our food only to be told that my choice wasn’t available and nor was much of the menu .According to management the member of staff who seated us apparently told us of the lack of main courses..this was totally untrue , no one told us what was or what wasn’t available until it came to ordering our food. There was very little of the main menu available and as I can’t eat many things due to dietary requirements the choice was very poor. Fortunately Amelia (a very nice lady )managed to get me a meal I could eat. So the moral of this story is….don’t bother to reserve a table because apparently you can just walk in and sit where you want regardless of other people reserving a table….and don’t build your hopes up on a main course because it may not be available. But well done Amelia …5...

We traveled here for a meal during the Eat Out to Help Out Scheme, and we were booked for 7pm and we were served drinks fast but then it took them about 30 minutes before we mentioned something for them to even receive our orders for starters and mains and it got to 9pm and a waitress came over and announced our mains would be 5 minutes extra after we had then waited two hours.

Bearing in mind that there was a table near us that arrived after us and they had a consistent set of waiters / waitresses coming to their table to take drink / food orders and while we were still waiting for our main courses, they had already finished their mains.

We also had our starters on the table still for about 20 minutes and a waitress went and cleaned an a vacant table that was in our view and didn't even pay attention to the fact that we had empty glasses and played to be cleared, and they still hadn't cleared our plates / drinks.

Appalling service and I will not be returning. The only upside is our entire bill was cleared, but we wouldn't have been paying it anyway with how terrible the services / delay was. If I could give less than 1...

We came here on Sunday, it was a last minute booking which was great after our hike. The food was good and portions were huge. The chicken pie could have done with a more cream as The texture was more watery than creamy but tasted alright.

Although the staff was friendly the service was poor. By this I mean, it was taking a while to order drinks, food, clear plates, order puddings. They even sat another customer tucked away from everyone else that she was waiting for a while and felt that she was completely forgotten about. A waiter almost served us before her and she’d been sat there for 10 minutes prior waiting for service. If I had felt that they had been understaffed I would’ve understood but there was quite a lot of staff on the floor.

It was also very cold in there, maybe it was because we had been outside the whole day but it could have done with being warmer.

Overall an okay experience. Would come again but wouldn’t be...
