Costa Coffee — Restaurant in England

My coffee was made by a new trainee who was great at customer service, very friendly and eager but he's been working alone for 2 weeks.... I imagine with very little training since he's alone in there all day everyday.

He is working as a manager in all but name and pay and should be on a mangers salary, as he is opening and closing the store. These are not the duties of a new trainee.

Due to this, now the place is take away only, as its a health and safety issue to stay open in this state.

Like all places used to relying on immigration to tolerate the terrible pay, this shop is suffering from low staffing. But yayBrexit, we took our borders back! So now we have British that can't afford to tolerate the very low salary / poor conditions and we see mass understaffing. Who could ever have predicted this completely predictable turn of events?

The solution? This costa should pay their staff more. The one up the road in Wetherby pays £12 p/h and is not understaffed - they should match that here. Cost of living goes up,...

Three stars because apparently the staff terms are ok. Still however making the mistake of other coffee chains by overpricing by 30% which causes each franchise to be 90% empty 70% of the time. Also closing time should probably be 8.30pm if you are intending to make any profit after overheads. I resent inflationary behaviour like charging 50 or 60p for a bit of aerosol can cream which they didn't used to charge for and it's more than the wholesale...

Delighted to visit this new venture in Starbuck for Costa Not my first time but glad to see they have stepped up and improved The ranges have improved it's a busy area away from the centre of Harrogate and has a good catchment area Sandwiches have improved with Yes the Christmas range but it's not in your face It goes with all the other wraps cakes Coffee Tea Soft drinks and so on Very good staff Service is good well...
