Costa Coffee — Restaurant in England

Visited the Costa Coffee place on Saturday morning 05 May 2018 to meet up with friends for a chat. It's our first visit here and we were impressed with the size of the place compared to how it looks when passing from a distance!

There is a nice seating area by the door area with about six tables undercover with a view of the car park! There are two automatic doors to go through into the Costa Coffee with push buttons to operate on the door frame. A notice on the door proclaims that this is the first environmentally friendly Costa in the country.

We were easily able to get a seat but there was a long wait for counter service. One lady behind the counter was struggling to make the drinks whilst another person took the orders. It was taking about 15 minutes to process the orders just for drinks and others were waiting even longer for addition things like snacks.

Visiting the toilets it was good to see that they were fed by rainwater to flush the toilets. A nice touch helped by all the rain we have...

Went in on a Saturday with my husband and 2 children, 7 & 8, had 2 cheese toasties and a sausage bap, all to be heated up. I was 4th in the queue, with around 12 people behind me!! Service was extremely slow, the girl serving wasn't very polite, very flustered, obviously short staffed. She took my food then I ordered some drinks. The girl making the coffees, my goodness, the coffee machine was in a disgusting state, old coffee spattered up it, terrible. Had no clean glasses for the lattes, had paper cups instead. The tables were dirty, floor filthy, shame, as it's a nice building, but not kept very clean at all. Love Costa. Always get good coffees from here. The only negative I have found is that during lockdown the signage for their opening times have been incorrect. On both Google and their own signage it notes they close at 7pm, but twice this month I have gone to get coffee just after 5pm but it is closed. I understand it's difficult with the lockdowns to keep up accurate information, but still it's a little inconvenient to go there when it is listed as open only to realise you've wasted your time and that they are actually closed.
