Costa Coffee — Restaurant in England

This Costa chain has a great location, albeit awkward to get to from some directions. It looks lovely and new on the inside and has a good space to sit in.

However, this particular location really falls short on customer service. Not even customer service at this point as there isn't any- you'd be lucky to get a smile and a hello. Every time I've visited, the staff are either occupied at the drive-thru and barely acknowledge your existence or will very rudely stare at you until you ask your order.

There was a morning I visited and there was a lady in front of me and myself and we stood there for 5 minutes without any staff member in sight. The other customer just sighed loudly and said to me she had been waiting 15 minutes already and the staff were just chatting with each other at the drive-thru window.

I've worked jobs like this before and as stressful as it can be, there's no excuse to not greet a customer like a human being rather than being treated like an annoyance for interrupting their chats. The place was empty to top it off!

Please sort it out as it's such a good location but the rudeness and lack of basic human manners are non-existent...

Ordered mac n cheese, along with 2 biscuits for my children. Got given a handwritten note alongside a STALE, hard, COLD, ‘toastie’ that had HAM in it!!!! To say they had no Mac n cheese, so sent that instead and “hope it’s alright”. No it isn’t! On a meat free order, how do you assume swapping mac n cheese for a ham toastie is ok?! But also, giving a stone cold, stale, rock solid slab of bread is ok instead of soft pasta?! I also have 2 children, and ordered 2 biscuits….. got sent ONE! Anyone with children will understand how stressful that is, when you have 2 young children! Absolutely disgusting! Tried calling many times and of course they’re “too busy”! Disgusted! I paid over £20 and the only thing that was ALRIGHT was the frappe! But I wish I never bothered because it certainly isn’t worth the rest of the aggro this order has caused me, and 100% not...

Been in this Costa many times and it seems to be getting worse. Visited on the afternoon of Sunday 23rd March. The lounge itself wasn't that busy, but the drive thru was. The lounge was in a disgusting state. 15 tables of rubbish and sticky dirty tables and detritus all over the floor. Poor dirty standards appear to becoming acceptable and the norm. I just want a clean calm environment to drink my coffee in peace and sadly in this Costa you wont get that. I personally dislike sitting in other peoples crap. I literally had to clean the table and chairs myself. The floor and looked like it hadn't been clean properly for months. This store needs a designated person to keep the front of house and tables cleared/cleaned at all times. I write this review as someone who has worked in hospitality...
