After the long drive from London, we wanted to try something local after checking into our hotel. This was 6 mins away from the Premier Inn Camborne and it’s next to the Travelodge. We booked the table in advance as we weren’t sure we would be getting a table if we turned up on a Saturday evening. There is a car park outside with plenty of parking spaces. Outside the restaurant has a play area for the kids. We were seated quickly and given the menus. We were waiting to be served but it turned out we needed to order online. We tried twice to order it, but it wasn’t working and it kept restarting when trying to making payment. We wasn’t aware that we could go to the bar and order, it would have been nice to be told this. The menus were very sticky with lots of stains, so was the table surfaces. It did not feel very clean. Food wise, it wasn’t bad. Reminded me of Harvester quality. There was an option to have the carvery. It was laid out near to where we were seated like a buffet(?) Most of us ordered the steak and my son had the kids fish and chips. Dessert was nice, I actually enjoyed the cheesecake. We had a tab behind the bar so that we could order desserts/drinks after the main course. You also make payment here too. Don’t expect to have a table service. We did enjoy the food, maybe it would be better if the tables weren’t so sticky.

My family and I were holidaying in Camborne and decided to go out for dinner, all 11 of us! The Copper Cosdt was a perfect choice! We were all able to sit together, which was great. The staff were incredibly welcoming and friendly. We all had the carvery except for two of the children who chose meals from the menu. The member of staff who took our order at the bar, was really patient and unhelpful when we placed the order and another member of staff let us know when the items from the menu were about to be brought out, so the rest of us could go and get the carvery so we could all eat . The carvery had a brilliant choice of accompanying vegetables options, which were hot and fresh and were not dried out as sometimes happens with a carvery. The member of staff who came to clear our table was lovely, she spoke with each of the children, enquired about whether or not they had enjoyed the food (which they all did!) which I thought was that nice touch! Overall, our experience at the Copper Coast was great! We would definitely eat there again!

We ordered via the app as recommended by a sticker on our table. A child’s (5+) fish fingers, medium carvery and a serlion steak, which was requested to be rare. The child’s fish finger meal stated it came with 4 fish fingers but only 2 were provided, and the steak was not cooked rare, I would suggest it was more well done, as I could see very little pink flesh when I cut into it. I was also not offered a steak knife, so assumed they were not available I used a knife provided on the table, which was a struggle, but I managed to cut through the steak. It was also confusing going up for the carvery without proof of purchase as the chef serving was expecting a ticket that we didn’t have due to ordering via the app. I pointed all this out to a member of staff who apologised and brought us free drinks as a compensation. The staff were pleasant and helpful but some training may be required, otherwise the meals were ok, the carvery was very nice, but I personally do not feel the other 2 meals were worth what was paid.

Having booked a table for two, it was disappointing to be told to just find a table for ourselves, finishing up first on a table for 6 and then moving to one for 5 when it became vacant. The background music certainly was pleasantly background, but a bit more sound absorbing would not hurt due to the general hubbub of the place being well patronised at that time. It made personal conversations more difficult. While I have no personal dislike of dogs, I have reservations about them entering a pubic eating place. The ones there at the time were well controlled, didn't bark and certainly did not appear to be allowed to sit on seats or eat from the table. How do you accommodate dog lovers and dog dislikers in the same area? Maybe like there used to be a smokers and non smokers area; a dog owners area and an others area. Dogs can be left in a car. A nervous person who maybe has had a bad experience of dogs cannot. It is only by telling you the negatives that you can improve. Moving on to the positives. The food offered good value for money, the staff were all pleasant and helpful, Parking was easy, but I am a blue badge holder. Not much more one can say here. The slight down here was that I parked in the space nearest the restaurant. Because of the railings this does not allow any extra space to open a passenger's door. Fortunately my wife is not of large stature and still relatively nimble. This cannot be addressed until the car park is re-laid and re marked but something for head office to consider in future designs. Some people need good access from both sides so there should always be a hatched width on both sides of blue...

I stayed at the travelodge and went in for dinner on a Thursday evening. When I got in I was told there was no tables for little old me on my own. I was quite announced at this point (I fancied proper food not McDonald's or subway which was over the road) so I explained I wanted some proper food and asked if I could sit outside or something. I was told I could but it's where people smoke. (I don't like smoke around me eating. I won't smoke around people eating unless they tell me to)

BUT.... (and this is where things turned around) The lady told me i could have my meal in a box to take out. OKAY! so I asked if I could have a steak knife to eat my meat. She asked if I was in the hotel and I said yes so she said yes. Anyway long story shortish (now) I ended up walking out of the pub/restaurant with a full mega mix grill on a plate with cutlery wrapped over the top and toke my whole meal to my room. The food was above average for a travelodge pub/restaurant but what really stood out was the service I received here. The girls went above and beyond to help me eat, it was all with a smile. I got a box of cutlery a bottle of sauce, napkins. I think it's maybe some of the best service I've ever received thankyou girls ill see...
